Val Daly
Val Daly is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player. Originally from Mountbellew, Daly made his debut with the county side in the 1981 National League and played until the 1997 Championship season when he was player manager. An All-Star in 1987 and 1990, Daly won five Connacht Senior Football Championship titles. As well as managing the Galway football team between 1996 and 1997, he was also appointed temporary manager of the Roscommon county football team in 2005, after the resignation of Tommy Carr from the post. He is currently manager of his own club side Mountbellew–Moylough in the Galway Senior Football Championship. John Daly (Gaelic Footballer)
John Daly is a Gaelic footballer who plays for the Mountbellew–Moylough club and at senior level for the Galway county team. He is the son of Val Daly, who also played for Galway and was also a manager. John Daly played for Galway in the 2022 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. The referee Sean Hurson took him to task in the closing stages and Jim McGuinness said this was unfair afterwards. Daly won an All Star Award at the end of the season, joining his father as a recipient. The Galway Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Galway. The winners of the Galway Championship qualify to represent their county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. The winning team is presented with the Frank Fox Cup. Tommy Carr (Gaelic Footballer)
Tommy Carr is an Irish strength and conditioning coach and former Gaelic footballer who played for the Dublin county team. He later became involved in coaching and media work. Playing career Carr received an All Star in 1991 in the same year that he won a National Football League medal with Dublin. He won his second league medal with Dublin in 1993. Managerial career Carr was the Dublin manager between 1997 and 2001, a period that proved an unsuccessful period for Dublin. During this era the current Dublin manager, Dessie Farrell, was the captain of the Dublin football team until Carr was replaced by Tommy Lyons. Carr was an advisor to the Wexford senior football team "on physical fitness and mental attitude matters" in 2002 under the management of Ger Halligan. Roscommon County Football Team
The Roscommon county football team represents Roscommon in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Roscommon GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Connacht Senior Football Championship and the National Football League.
