Val D'Europe Station
Val d'Europe is a railway station on the RER A line in Val d'Europe, the eastmost part of the new town of Marne-la-Vallée. The station's full name is Serris – Montévrain – Val d'Europe, a recognition that the station serves more specifically the communes of Serris and Montévrain. The station also serves the nearby neighbourhoods of Chessy and Jossigny and the large shopping mall of Val d'Europe. History The district of Val d'Europe was planned and developed in conjunction with The Walt Disney Company, who wished to create a new town near the Disneyland Paris resort. Thus, on 1 April 1992, RER line A was extended to Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy to serve Disneyland Paris. To achieve the objective of better serving the communes of the Val d'Europe, which was then in full expansion, and the Val d'Europe mall newly established, Val d'Europe station was built as an infill station on the already operating RER line and opened on 14 April 2001. Réseau Express Régional
The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its ÃŽle-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. The network has 257 stations and has interchanges with the Paris Métro, Métro and Transilien, commuter rail within the City of Paris and the suburbs. The lines are identified by letters to avoid confusion with the Métro lines, which are identified by numbers. The network is still expanding: RER E, which opened in 1999, is planned for westward extension toward La Défense and Mantes-la-Jolie in two phases by 2024–2026. Characteristi ...

MI 84
The MI 84 (French: ''Matériel d'Interconnexion de 1984'', English: ''interconnection rolling stock of 1984''), also known as the Class Z 8100 is a dual-voltage electric multiple unit trainset that is operated on line B of the Réseau Express Régional (RER), a hybrid suburban commuter and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France suburbs. The 73 four-car trains were built by a consortium of French manufacturers Alsthom and ANF Industrie (which would be purchased by Bombardier in 1989 before the end of the deliveries). The final assembly of the trains was performed at Alstom's Valenciennes factory and ANF's Crespin factory between 1985 and 1990. The design of the MI 84 was derived from the earlier MI 79 built for the RER B, but with modifications to make it better suited for the RER A line. The introduction of double-decker trainsets on the RER A allowed the MI 84 trains to be shifted to the RER B by 24 February 2017. History In the late 1980s, the RER A ...
