V-League 5th Season 2nd Conference
The V-League 5th Season 2nd Conference is a tournament of the Shakey's V-League. The tournament began on October 19, 2008 at The Arena in the city of San Juan. Joining are Ateneo de Manila University, Adamson University, De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, San Sebastian College - Recoletos and University of Santo Tomas. Former champion teams University of Santo Tomas and De La Salle University come back after being absent last conference. After being thrice runner-up and a heartbreaking third-place finish last conference, San Sebastian College - Recoletos finally clinched the championship this season after finishing their former nemesis University of Santo Tomas in a sweep of the finals series. The Arena In San Juan
The Filoil EcoOil Centre, formerly Filoil Flying V Centre, Filoil Flying V Arena and The Arena in San Juan, also known as the Entertainment and Recreational Arena of the People (initials taken after former mayor and president Joseph Estrada's nickname 'Erap'), is an indoor sporting arena located in Santolan Road Bonny Serrano Avenue, Corazon de Jesus, San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. The centre played host to the basketball games of the Philippine Basketball Association, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines since 2009, the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup, Philippine Collegiate Champions League, Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, Filbasket, Pilipinas Super League, as well as the Premier Volleyball League. Rachel Anne Daquis
Rachel Anne Lopez Daquis (born December 13, 1987) is a Filipino volleyball player. She graduated from the Far Eastern University where she took up Business Management. She was also the team captain of the PLDT HOME TVolution women's team that played in the 2014 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship. She is a former team captain of the FEU Lady Tamaraws in her collegiate years, where she was given the title "Queen Tamaraw". She played in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) with the Cignal HD Spikers and is the PSL's brand ambassador for 2018 to 2019. In 2020, her team Cignal HD Spikers transfers to Premier Volleyball League. Career Daquis entered the volleyball scene when she was still in high school in Juan Sumulong Memorial Junior College in Rizal. She joined the FEU Lady Tamaraws and achieved her first championship during the 2008 UAAP Volleyball championships. Shakey's Pizza is a pizza restaurant chain based in the United States. Founded in 1954, it was the first franchise pizza chain in the United States. In 1968, the chain had 342 locations. The chain had about 500 stores globally, and 58 in the United States, as of July 2019. Lyceum Pirates
The LPU Pirates are the athletic teams that represent the Lyceum of the Philippines University and plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), the oldest athletic association in the Philippines. Lyceum has fifteen collegiate men's varsity teams that participate in fifteen sporting events of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), its mother league. They are popularly known as the "Pirata ng Intramuros". The women's varsity team is called the Lady Pirates, which plays in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) while the high school varsity basketball team is from the Cavite Campus' International High School which is called the Junior Pirates.
