Uzbekistan Super League ( uz, O'zbekiston Superligasi), also called Coca-Cola Uzbekistan Super League due to sponsorship reasons ( uz, Coca-Cola O'zbekiston Superligasi / Coca-Cola Ўзбекистон Суперлигаси), is the top division of professional football in Uzbekistan. It is operated under the auspices of the Uzbekistan Professional Football League and Uzbekistan Football Association. It was founded in 1992 and currently played with 14 teams. The top team qualifies to the group stage of the AFC Champions League. History The Uzbek League was founded in 1992 after the collapse of the Soviet Union and its domestic league, the Soviet Top League. The league is known locally as the Higher League with relegation to the First League. Jafar Irismetov (russian: Джафар Ирисметов) (born 23 August 1976) is a former Uzbekistan footballer and coach. Playing career On 29 December 2012 IFFHS published list of ''The World's most successful Top Division Goal Scorer among the still active Players''. Jafar Irismetov ranked 8th in list, scoring 240 goals in 441 matches in his career. After 2012 season played for Navbahor Namangan he decided to finish his playing career. Early in 2013 he announced to play beach soccer and participated in 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualification of (AFC) for Uzbekistan. He scored 5 goals in tournament. On 23 March 2015 in 2015 AFC Beach Soccer Championship in Qatar, Irismetov made hat-trick in group stage match against UAE which ended by 6–5 win of uzbek side. Football Club Andijan, also known as FC Andijan, is an Uzbek football club based in Andijan. The club plays in Uzbekistan Super League. History The club was formed 1964 under the name ''Spartak''. In 1969 the club was renamed ''Andijanez''. After 1990 the club played in Uzbek League as ''Navruz Andijan''. Since 1997 the club has played as ''FK Andijan''.
