Usogorsk
Usogorsk (russian: Усого́рск; kv, Усогорск) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Udorsky District of the Komi Republic, Russia, located at the confluence of the Us and Mezen Rivers. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 5,343. History In December 1967, an agreement was signed between the governments of the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of Bulgaria to harvest Soviet timber for the needs of Bulgarian economy. Two months later, a team of Bulgarian builders arrived in Udorsky District and began to build the first of the three planned logging companies. After several years of work, three localities (Usogorsk, Blagoyevo, and Mezhdurechensk) serving the logging operations developed in the area. Mezen River
The Mezen (russian: Мезень) is a river in Udorsky District of the Komi Republic and in Leshukonsky and Mezensky Districts of Arkhangelsk Oblast in Russia. Its mouth is located in the Mezen Bay of the White Sea. Mezen is one of the biggest rivers of European Russia. It is long, and the area of its basin . The principal tributaries of the Mezen are the Bolshaya Loptyuga (left), the Pyssa (left), the Mezenskaya Pizhma (right), the Sula (right), the Kyma (right), the Vashka (left), the Pyoza (right), and the Kimzha (left).
