Ushan Manohara
Ushan Manohara (full name Petta Yaddehi Ushan Manohara; born 26 August 1989) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler who plays for Sinhalese Sports Club. He was born in Galle. Manohara, who made his debut for Sinhalese Sports Club Under-23s during 2009, made his List A debut during the Premier Limited Overs Tournament competition of 2009–10, debuting against Colombo Cricket Club, taking a single wicket, that of fellow debutante Dilesh Gunaratne, for a second-ball duck. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The Singhalese Sports Club (SSC) is a first-class cricket club in Sri Lanka. Singhalese is the most successful club in Sri Lankan domestic cricket, having won the Premier Trophy a record 32 times to 2017. Although the name is correctly spelt with the old spelling "Singhalese", the name is sometimes misspelt with the modern spelling "Sinhalese". Three former Prime Ministers of Sri Lanka have been presidents of the club. History In 1899, a combined school cricket team, composed mainly of cricketers from Royal College, S. Dilesh Gunaratne (born 2 April 1989) is a Sri Lankan cricketer who plays for Colombo Cricket Club. He has made more than 50 first-class appearances since 2011. Gunaratne made his List A debut in the 2009–10 season, against Sinhalese Sports Club. From the tailend, he scored a duck. Gunaratne took figures of 0-41 from 6.3 overs of bowling.
