''Used Heart for Sale'' is the debut studio album by American country music singer Gary Allan. It was released on September 24, 1996 via Decca Records Nashville. The album has been certified gold by the RIAA. It produced four singles on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart with " Her Man", "Living in a House Full of Love", "From Where I'm Sitting", and "Forever and a Day". "Her Man" reached the Top 10 on the country charts at #7, while none of the other three singles reached Top 40. Several of the songs on this album are covers, including two its singles. "Her Man" was previously recorded by Waylon Jennings on his 1990 album ''The Eagle'', and "Living in a House Full of Love" was previously a number 3 hit for David Houston back in 1965. Gary Allan Herzberg (born December 5, 1967) is an American country music singer. Signed to Decca Records in 1996, Allan made his country music debut with the release of his single " Her Man", the lead-off to his gold-certified debut album '' Used Heart for Sale'', which was released in 1996 on Decca. His second album, ''It Would Be You'', followed in 1998. Allan's third album, ''Smoke Rings in the Dark'', was his first one for MCA Nashville (to which he has been signed ever since) and his first platinum album. A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. Dan Dugmore
Dan Dugmore is an American session musician known primarily for playing the pedal steel guitar Born in 1949, Dugmore was raised in Pasadena, California. Influenced by the Flying Burrito Brothers, he learned to play steel guitar after Flying Burrito Brothers member Sneaky Pete Kleinow sold him one. Dugmore then joined John Stewart's road band, and then Linda Ronstadt's; he also played for several James Taylor albums. In the 1990s, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he began playing steel guitar on country music albums. He self-released a Beatles cover album in 2003 titled ''Off White Album''. "Wine Me Up" is a song first recorded by American country music artist Faron Young. It was released in May 1969 as the first single from his album, ''Wine Me Up''. Royce Glenn Sutton (September 28, 1937 – April 17, 2007) was an American country music songwriter, record producer, and one of the architects of the ''countrypolitan'' sound. Biography Sutton wrote or co-wrote many of Tammy Wynette's early hits including, "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad", "Take Me to Your World" (which would be the last song Wynette ever sang in concert before her death in 1998), "I Don't Wanna Play House, " The Ways to Love a Man", "Kids Say the Darndest Things", and "Bedtime Story".
