The Uruguay women's national handball team is the national team of Uruguay. It takes part in international handball competitions. History The team participated in the 1997, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2011 editions of the World Championship. In 2003 and 2015 they won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games. Handball At The 2023 Pan American Games – Women's Tournament
The women's handball tournament at the 2023 Pan American Games was the 9th edition of the handball event for women at the Pan American Games. It was held from 24 to 29 October 2023. All games were played at the Gimnasio Polideportivo in Viña del Mar, Chile. The winner of this tournament, Brazil, qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. 2021 South And Central American Women's Handball Championship
‌The 2021 South and Central American Women's Handball Championship was the second edition of the championship and held from 5 to 9 October 2021 at Asunción, Paraguay under the aegis of South and Central America Handball Confederation. It was the first time in history that the championship is organised by the Paraguay Handball Confederation. It also acted as the qualification tournament for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top three teams qualifying. Brazil won the tournament for the second time after a finals win over Argentina. Qualified teams *Because Nicaragua was not able to found enough money for the trip, they were replaced by Chile. The 2017 Pan American Women's Handball Championship was the 14th edition of the Pan American Women's Handball Championship, held in at the Sociedad Alemana de Gimnasia de Villa Ballester, in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina from 18 to 25 June 2017. It acted as American qualifying tournament for the 2017 World Women's Handball Championship. The event was originally set to be held in Toronto, Canada but the Canadian Handball Federation withdrew, citing lack of funds. Brazil defeated Argentina 38–20 to capture their 10th title.
