Ursus, Son Of Hercules
''Ursus'' (also known as ''Mighty Ursus'') is a 1961 Italian peplum film directed by Carlo Campogalliani. It was originally theatrically released in the US on a double bill with "Jack, the Giant Killer" (1962) before being sold to television in the U.S. The film was later released to American television retitled ''Ursus, Son of Hercules'' as part of the '' Sons of Hercules'' TV syndication package (although Ursus was not related to Hercules at all in the original Italian version). Filmed in Madrid in 1960, and released in Italy on Feb. 1, 1961, this movie stars bodybuilder Ed Fury as the legendary Ursus, and Moira Orfei as the evil queen Attea, in a sword-and-sandal adventure.Hughes Ed Fury is the actor most often associated with the Ursus series, although he only played him in three of the nine films. Carlo Campogalliani (10 October 1885 – 10 August 1974) was an Italian screenwriter, actor and film director. Campogalliani directed around eighty films during his career and acted in another fifty. Mariangela Giordano (2 September 1937 – 16 July 2011) was an Italian film and television actress. Life and career Born in Dolcedo, Imperia, Italy as Maria Angela Giordano, the daughter of a journalist, Giordano was elected Miss Liguria in 1954. Then she almost immediately started an intense film career, mainly appearing in genre films in which she was sometimes credited as Mary Jordan. Mario Scaccia
Mario Scaccia (26 December 1919 – 26 January 2011) was an Italian actor and author. He was a prominent figure in the Italian theatre of '900. Biography Born in Rome, the son of a painter, during the Second World War Scaccia was conscripted into the army as an officer in Sicily; made prisoner by the American army, he was taken in Morocco, where he remained three years. In 1945 Scaccia returned to Rome, where he abandoned his studies in pedagogy and enrolled at the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico, attending only the first year; in 1946 he started appearing on stage, usually as character actor. ''Quo Vadis: A Narrative of the Time of Nero'' is a historical novel written by Henryk Sienkiewicz in Polish. The novel ''Quo Vadis'' tells of a love that develops between a young Christian woman, Lygia (Ligia in Polish) and Marcus Vinicius, a Roman patrician. It takes place in the city of Rome under the rule of emperor Nero, AD 64. Sienkiewicz studied the Roman Empire extensively before writing the novel, with the aim of getting historical details correct. Consequently, several historical figures appear in the book. As a whole, the novel carries a pro-Christian message. It was first published in installments in the ''Gazeta Polska'' between 26 March 1895 and 29 February 1896, as well as in two other journals, ''Czas'' and ''Dziennik Poznański'', starting two and three days later.
