Ciro Luis Urriola
Ciro Luis Urriola Garrés (3 July 1863 – 26 June 1922) was a Panamanian politician. He returned to Panama in 1888 to practice his profession. In 1893 he was in charge of Health Medicine of the Port of Panama for four years. He travels to Paris and in 1898 he studies bacteriology and nervous diseases. Then he settles down in Dublin where he obtains a diploma in bachelor's degree, which is now obstetrics. He returned to Panama in 1901, in the middle of the thousand-day war, where his adherence to liberalism caused him problems. After independence, he was a member of the National Constituent Convention. In 1903, he was appointed a doctor in the service of policemen and prisoners of the old Hospital Santo Tomás, and since then he has been dedicated to the study of malaria. In 1904 he returned to Paris as a delegate of the Tuberculosis Congress and went to Rome where he studied malaria. Malú Urriola
María de la Luz Urriola González (9 June 1967 – 21 July 2023), most often known as Malú Urriola, was a Chilean poet, screenwriter and academic. She wrote seven books of poetry and won the 2006 Pablo Neruda Award. She was a professor at the Catholic University of Chile. As a screenwriter, Urriola wrote for the television programs ' and '. Early life and academia Malú Urriola was born in Santiago on 9 June 1967. She began writing at the age of 14 and received a scholarship from the poetry workshop of the in 1986. Urriola earned a master's degree in scriptwriting in Madrid, Spain. She was a professor in the Faculty of Letters at the Catholic University of Chile. Writing career Urriola published her first book, ''Piedras rodantes'', in 1988 when she was 21. Martiniano Urriola
Martiniano Urriola Guzmán was a Chilean colonel of the War of the Pacific. He participated across many campaigns of the war as well as being one of the primary commanders of the Chilean North Operations Army. Military career Martiniano was born on 1823 as the son of Colonel Pedro Urriola Balbontín and ''Doña'' Rosario Guzmán Fontecilla at Santiago. He entered the in 1832 before graduating in 1837 as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was then made an assistant as his father had to go to Argentina to conduct operations against Marshal Andrés de Santa Cruz. Martiniano then joined the ranks of Alejandro Heredia as he participated in the War of the Confederation. He returned to Chile in 1838 and a year later, he joined the ranks of Manuel Bulnes and fought at the battles of Portada de Guías, Buin and Yungay.
