Urban Odson
Urban Leroy Odson (November 17, 1918 – June 22, 1986) was an American football Offensive tackle, tackle in the National Football League who played 44 games for the Green Bay Packers (1946–1949). In 1942, the Green Bay Packers used the 9th pick in the 1st round of the 1942 NFL Draft to sign Odson out of the University of Minnesota. Odson, a consensus All-American, starred on two undefeated NCAA National Championship teams for the Minnesota Golden Gophers football, Golden Gophers (1940 and 1941). Odson was selected to play in the 1942 College All-Star game on August 28, 1942 in front of 101,103 spectators against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago. Odson also was selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game, East-West Shrine All Star game. Clark, South Dakota
Clark is a city in and county seat of Clark County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 1,148 at the 2020 census. History A post office was established at Clark in 1880. Clark was platted in 1882. The city took its name from Clark County. An early variant name was Clark Center. In 1882, railroad tracks were first built through the middle of Clark. The Burlington Northern railroad and County Highway 212 ran parallel to one another and divided Clark into halves - the north half and the south half. Highway 212 similarly runs through the middle of Clark, and provides a direct travel route starting in Minneapolis, Minnesota, into Clark, then went to the Black Hills and to Yellowstone National Park. Canton () is a city in and the county seat of Stark County, Ohio. It is located approximately south of Cleveland and south of Akron in Northeast Ohio. The city lies on the edge of Ohio's extensive Amish country, particularly in Holmes and Wayne counties to the city's west and southwest. Montreal Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes (Canadian French, French: Les Alouettes de Montréal) are a professional Canadian football team based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1946, the team has folded and been revived twice. 1949 NFL Season
The 1949 NFL season was the 30th regular season of the National Football League. Prior to the season, Boston Yanks owner Ted Collins asked the league to fold his team due to financial woes, and give him a new one in New York City. This new team would be called the New York Bulldogs. The franchise, which to this day has still never missed a season in some form, carried on the legacy of the final Ohio League member Dayton Triangles, and its players and assets were moved to New York but not specifically folded. As a result of the move, professional football would not return to Boston until the Patriots began play in 1960. As the regular season came to a close, a merger agreement between the NFL and the All-America Football Conference was announced on December 9.
