RED Distribution
RED Music, stylized RED MUSIC, formerly RED Distribution, LLC (Relativity Entertainment Distribution) was a Sony-owned sales and marketing division that merged under The Orchard in 2017. RED previously handled releases for more than sixty independent record labels. History Founded in 1979 as mainly a hard rock music distributor called Important Record Distributors, which originally distributed Metallica's first two LPs in the US, it became RED Distribution in the 1990s. In October 1999, Sony Music Entertainment sold 80% of RED Distribution to Edel SE & Co. KGaA. In March 2016, Sony announced the acquisition of Essential Music and Marketing. The company was formed in December 2009, when Nielsen Company sold its entertainment and media division to a private equity-backed group led by Pluribus Capital Management and Guggenheim Partners. Guggenheim acquired Pluribus's stake in the company in January 2013, giving it full ownership under the division of Guggenheim Digital Media. Racetraitor
Racetraitor is an American hardcore punk band originally from Chicago, Illinois. The band attracted controversy in the late 1990s, before any releases, as a result of their radical take on racial politics, which focused on ideas like systemic racism and white privilege before they were widely discussed topics in popular or underground culture. Racetraitor was also a key proto-metalcore act being one of the first few bands to incorporate extreme metal influences, such as death metal, grindcore, and doom metal, into hardcore. In 1998, the band released their album ''Burn the Idol of the White Messiah''. The album was followed by a split EP with Indianapolis band Burn It Down called ''Make Them Talk'' in 1999 before an initial breakup. Project Rocket
Project Rocket was an American pop punk band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2002. The band consisted of members Andy Hurley, T.J. Minich, Kyle Johnson, Noah Nickel and Seth Lingebrigtson. The members originally played in hardcore, political metalcore and punk rock bands such as Racetraitor, Spitalfield, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Knockout, killtheslavemaster, The Kill Pill and Vegan Reich before forming Project Rocket to develop their own pop punk and emo sound. Kid Gorgeous is an American metalcore band from Buffalo, New York, United States. The group features a conglomerate mix of members from past and current bands Buried Alive (band), Every Time I Die and Anterrabae. Their first album, '' Friday Night Knife Fight'', was released in May 2001. Their second studio album, '' This Feeling Gets Old'', came out in June 2003. Both efforts were released on Southern California indie label Uprising Records. The band originally called it quits in 2003 with their last show being with Snapcase and Every Time I Die in November of that year. With a couple one-off reunion shows since then, the band has recently resurfaced with news in March 2010 that they were going to record and tour briefly in the summer. Carnifex is an American deathcore band from San Diego County, California. Formed in 2005, they are currently signed to Nuclear Blast after having been signed to Victory Records. They have released eight full-length albums and three EPs. Since 2022, the band has consisted of founding members, lead vocalist Scott Ian Lewis and drummer Shawn Cameron, along with rhythm guitarist Cory Arford, bassist Fred Calderon and lead guitarist Neal Tiemann. Vegan Reich was an American hardcore punk band from Laguna Beach, California, United States, active from 1987 to 1999. Fronted by singer-songwriter Sean Muttaqi, the band was formerly identified with the controversial hardline subculture, a more militant tendency of the vegan straight edge movement. Along with Raid, Vegan Reich were one of the most well-known bands to identify with hardline.
