Upper Hudson AVA
The Upper Hudson AVA is an American Viticultural Area located to the north and west of Albany, New York. It is approximately 1650 square miles with nearly 65 acres of vines planted and 19 vineyards. It includes parts or all of seven counties in upstate New York (state), New York, specifically Albany County, New York, Albany, Montgomery County, New York, Montgomery, Rensselaer County, New York, Rensselaer, Saratoga County, New York, Saratoga, Schenectady County, New York, Schenectady, Schoharie County, New York, Schoharie and Washington County, New York, Washington. Hudson River
The Hudson River is a river that flows from north to south primarily through eastern New York. It originates in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York and flows southward through the Hudson Valley to the New York Harbor between New York City and Jersey City, eventually draining into the Atlantic Ocean at Lower New York Bay. New York State Agricultural Experiment Station
The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station (NYSAES) at Geneva, Ontario County, New York State, is an agricultural experiment station operated by the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University. In August 2018, the station was rebranded as Cornell AgriTech, but its official name remains unchanged. The Station is the sixth oldest institution of its kind in the country. Kathy Marchione
Kathleen A. Marchione is an American politician from the State of New York. A Republican, Marchione served as Town Clerk and Town Supervisor in the Town of Halfmoon, New York before becoming Saratoga County Clerk. She served in that role from 1997 through 2012. The aging of wine is potentially able to improve the quality of wine. This distinguishes wine from most other consumable goods. While wine is perishable and capable of deteriorating, complex chemical reactions involving a wine's sugars, acids and phenolic compounds (such as tannins) can alter the aroma, color, mouthfeel and taste of the wine in a way that may be more pleasing to the taster.
