Matt Darey
Matthew Jonathan Darey (born 29 November 1968) is an English trance music producer and performer. Darey has sold over two million albums and singles with numerous top 10 and top 20 chart hits. Music career Darey was born in Leicester, England. Some of his earliest solo work was under the name Lost Tribe, releasing the EP ''The Distant Voices'' in 1997. The single "Gamemaster" reached number 24 on the UK Singles Chart in 1999. In addition to production and remixing work for other artists, Darey began releasing music under his own name in 2004. In 2005 he debuted a new show on Digitally Imported called ''Nocturnal'', which became a weekly show the following year. His 2007 single "Beautiful Day: reached the top 25 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music Club Play and hitting the Top 20 on the Hot Dance Airplay chart in the United States. Trance is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged from the British new-age music scene and the early 1990s German techno and hardcore scenes. A double album (or double record) is an audio album that spans two units of the primary medium in which it is sold, typically either records or compact disc. A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it is possible to create one using sound editing software. DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. Tilt (producers)
Tilt is an English group of electronic record producers, composed of Mick Park and Nic Britton. Tilt was formed in Coventry, England by Mick Park and Mick Wilson. In 1990, they became resident DJs at The Eclipse, which was the first legal all night rave dance venue in the United Kingdom. During their time at Eclipse, they DJ'd alongside Sasha, who inspired them to produce their own musical material. In 1993, they met with John Graham and formed Tilt. Engineered by Nic Britton at Bassroom/Midiroom Studios in Stoke-on-Trent, their first big hit single came in 1996 with "I Dream", released on Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records. Tilt released several other singles such as "My Spirit", "Places", and "Butterfly", as well as "Rendezvous", which they recorded with Paul van Dyk. Simon Paul Berry, known by his alias Art of Trance, is a trance music artist from England. Berry is also known as Poltergeist or Vicious Circles, and has been a member of the trance groups Clanger, Conscious and Union Jack. He has been producing and remixing music since 1993. In addition to his work as an artist, Berry was the founder and head of Platipus Records, based in London. Initially his label only released his own tracks.
