Pajama Party was an American female vocal trio from Brooklyn, New York active between 1988 and 1992. The original members were Jennifer McQuilkin of New Jersey, Daphne Rubin-Vega of Panama, and Suzi Ranta of Michigan with songwriter Peggy Sendars and songwriter/producer Jim Klein. Career The group originally consisted of Daphne Rubin-Vega, Jennifer McQuilkin, and Suzi Ranta, with Jennifer singing lead, but McQuilkin and Ranta were replaced in 1989 by Lynn Critelli and Amanda Homi. The band's biggest hit single, " Yo No Sé" (1988) (sung by Jennifer McQuilkin), was one of the first freestyle songs in which the title was entirely in the Spanish language, which peaked at #75 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Their second single " Over and Over" (originally performed by Brenda K. Starr) peaked at 59 on the Hot 100. Freestyle Music
Freestyle music, also called Latin freestyle or Latin hip-hop ''(sic)'' is a form of electronic dance music that emerged in the New York metropolitan area and Philadelphia, primarily among Hispanic Americans and Italian Americans in the 1980s. It experienced its greatest popularity from the late 1980s until the early 1990s. A common theme of freestyle lyricism originated as heartbreak in an urban environment typified by New York City. An important precursor to freestyle is 1982's " Planet Rock" by Afrika Bambaataa & Soul Sonic Force. Shannon's 1983 hit " Let the Music Play" is often considered the first freestyle song and the first major song recorded by a Latin American artist is " Please Don't Go" by Nayobe from 1984. Atlantic Recording Corporation (simply known as Atlantic Records) is an American record label founded in October 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. Jim Klein is a Los Angeles born, Philadelphia-based, Emmy Award-winning composer, music producer, recording engineer, and songwriter. Klein is best known as the producer and songwriter behind the influential freestyle group Pajama Party, whose albums produced several hit singles. He is also a published author. Career Engineering, Production, and Songwriting After graduating from college, Klein moved to New York City and became a staff engineer at Noise NY recording studios. In the 1980s, Klein worked on numerous major and indie label projects, as well as recordings for film scores. Can't Live Without It
''Can't LIVE Without It'' was the only live album release from American hardcore punk/speed metal band, Gang Green. It was recorded at The Marquee Club in London, UK on February 25, 1990, and was released by Roadrunner Records later that year. It features one line up change from their previous two albums – Josh Pappe had joined from fellow crossover thrash band, D.R.I., to replace Joe Gittleman who had been fired shortly after the release of the studio album, '' Older... Budweiser'', in 1989. After finishing a headline tour of Europe, of which this material was a part, Fritz Ericson retired, Josh Pappe got married, and long-term drummer, Brian Betzger decided to start a pool hall. Hide And Seek (Pajama Party Song)
Hide-and-seek (sometimes known as hide-and-go-seek) is a popular children's game in which at least two players (usually at least three) conceal themselves in a set environment, to be found by one or more seekers. The game is played by one chosen player (designated as being "it") counting to a predetermined number with eyes closed while the other players hide. After reaching this number, the player who is "it" calls "Ready or not, here I come!" or "Coming, ready or not!" and then attempts to locate all concealed players. The game can end in one of several ways. The most common way of ending is the player chosen as "it" locates all players; the player found first is the loser and is chosen to be "it" in the next game.
