Joan Jett
Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin, September 22, 1958) is an American singer, guitarist, record producer, and actress. Jett is best known for her work as the frontwoman of her band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and for earlier founding and performing with the Runaways, which recorded and released the hit song "Cherry Bomb". With The Blackhearts, Jett is known for her rendition of the song " I Love Rock 'n Roll" which was number-one on the '' Billboard'' Hot 100 for seven weeks in 1982. Jett's other notable songs include " Bad Reputation", "Light of Day", "I Hate Myself for Loving You" and her covers of "Crimson and Clover", "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)" and " Dirty Deeds". ''Greatest Hits'' is a compilation album by the rock group Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, released March 9, 2010 through Jett's label Blackheart Records. It includes two discs of 21 songs in total and features Jett's three songs that charted in the US top ten: "I Love Rock 'n' Roll", "Crimson and Clover", and "I Hate Myself for Loving You". In 2013, the album was released in Australia featuring two new songs ("TMI" and "Reality Mentality") added to the end of the second disc, which were later included on ''Unvarnished''. Acey Slade
Emil John Schmidt IV (born December 15, 1974), known professionally as Acey Slade, is an American musician, perhaps best known as the bassist of the alternative metal band Dope and the former guitarist of the horror punk and glam metal act Murderdolls. He is currently the lead singer and guitarist of the band Acey Slade & the Dark Party, and the live rhythm guitarist of Misfits. Previous to this, he served as the bassist in Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and the lead vocalist and guitarist in the punk rock band Trashlight Vision, which broke up in 2007. "I Hate Myself for Loving You" is a song by American rock band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, released as the lead single from their sixth studio album, '' Up Your Alley'' (1988). The song reached number eight on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, Jett's third and last single to reach the top 10, and was her first since "Crimson and Clover" in 1982. The song spent six weeks longer on the charts than did the group's biggest hit, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" (which was on the chart for 20 weeks). Kim Vincent Fowley (July 21, 1939 – January 15, 2015) was the American record producer, songwriter and musician who was behind a string of novelty and cult pop rock singles in the 1960s, and managed The Runaways in the 1970s. Ritchie Cordell (born Richard Joel Rosenblatt; March 10, 1943 – April 13, 2004) was an American songwriter, singer and record producer. He wrote and produced several hits for Tommy James and The Shondells, including "I Think We're Alone Now" (later also recorded by Lene Lovich, Tiffany and Girls Aloud) and " Mony Mony" (later also recorded by Billy Idol), and co-produced Joan Jett's ''I Love Rock 'n' Roll''. "Bad Reputation" is a rock song co-written and recorded by Joan Jett from her debut album of the same name. Though it was initially only released as a single in Germany, it remains one of her signature songs. Accolades In 2009, it was named the 29th best hard rock song of all time by VH1. It is the highest-ranked song by a woman on the list. In 2021, it was listed at No. 249 on Rolling Stone's "Top 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
