Untamed Women
''Untamed Women'' is a 1952 independently made American science fiction film, directed by W. Merle Connell, written by George Wallace Sayre, and starring Mikel Conrad and Doris Merrick. It was distributed by United Artists. Plot An American bomber pilot in World War II, Steve Holloway, is rescued by a U.S. Navy flying boat after drifting at sea in a liferaft. When he awakens from a coma at a military hospital, he tells his doctors how his copilot died when he and three of his crew members, Benny, Andy, and Ed, crashed following a bombing mission. The survivors use a liferaft to finally reach an unknown island after being adrift for eight days. The island is inhabited by prehistoric dinosaurs and reptiles and a tribe of Amazons, who are cavewomen descended from Druids. The Amazons are being plagued by Neanderthal men intent on kidnapping and mating with them. William Bond Warren (April 26, 1943 – October 7, 2016) was an American film historian, critic, and one of the leading authorities on science fiction, horror, and fantasy films. Early life and education Warren was born in North Bend, Oregon and grew up in Gardiner on the Umpqua River. He became interested in science fiction films during the genre's first boom period in the 1950s after seeing ''The Day the Earth Stood Still'' (1951). The ''Canned Film Festival'' is a comedy-based motion picture television series that was nationally syndicated during the late night hours in the United States for a single season in the summer of 1986. With only a one-letter difference in the spelling, the name is an intentional play on the name for the ''Cannes Film Festival'', the annual world-renowned film-screening celebration in Cannes, France. Hal Roach Studios was an American motion picture and television production studio. Known as ''The Laugh Factory to the World'', it was founded by producer Hal Roach and business partners Dan Linthicum and I.H. Nance as the Rolin Film Company on July 23, 1914.
