Korean Hip Hop
Korean hip hop, also known as K-hip hop or K-rap, is a subgenre of Korean popular music. It is widely considered to have originated in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and has since become increasingly popular, both in Korea and abroad. Korean ( South Korean: , ''hangugeo''; North Korean: , ''chosŏnmal'') is the native language for about 80 million people, mostly of Korean descent. It is the official and national language of both North Korea and South Korea (geographically Korea), but over the past years of political division, the two Koreas have developed some noticeable vocabulary differences. Gil Seong-joon (Korean: 길성준, Hanja: 吉成俊; born December 24, 1977), better known by his stage name Gill ( ko, 길), is a South Korean singer and television personality. He was the main singer of former South Korean hip-hop duo, Leessang. In 2009, Gil joined Infinite Challenge as a guest and, later on, as a regular co-host. Gil also co-hosted Come To Play. In 2012, Gil joined Voice of Korea as one of the coaches and continued for Season 2. Kang Hee-gun (; born February 24, 1978), better known by his stage name Gary ( ko, 개리, often spelled as Garie), is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and television personality. Besides being a solo artist, he is also the rapper and lyricist of the former hip hop duo Leessang. Since their formation in 2002, the group has produced a total of eight albums and had several hits under their belt. In 2014, Gary made his debut as a solo artist with the mini-album ''Mr.Gae''. Yoon Do-hyun (born February 3, 1972) is a South Korean hard rock/folk rock singer, musician, and songwriter. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the Yoon Do-hyun Band (YB) since 1996. Yoon is also an MC on TV variety programs (notably ''Yoon Do-hyun's Love Letter'') and a musical theatre actor. Urban Zakapa () is a South Korean R&B singer-songwriter group formed in 2009 by Fluxus Music. Originally a 9-member group, in 2012 they became a trio, consisting of Park Yong-in, Jo Hyunah and Kwon Soon-il. The group's name is an abbreviation for Urban, Zappy, Kaleidoscopic, and Passionate. Background In 2004, Park Yong-in met Jo Hyun-a at practical music academy. He asked her to form a singing duo.
