Unna Junná
''Unna Junná'' is a children's television program produced by Finnish public broadcaster Yle Sámi Radio several different Sámi languages. It was the first Sámi-language children's program on Finnish TV and it now airs in Northern, Inari, and Skolt Sámi languages. Since 2007, ''Unna Junná'' has aired on Yle and SVT television channels in Finland and Sweden respectively. Program details Each year, Yle produces thirty 15-minute episodes, half of which air in the spring and half in the fall. The show is hosted by Sámi performers Sofia Jannok and and features songs, stories, and pictures using both live action and animated segments. Yle Sámi Radio ( se, Sámi Radio) is a regional unit of the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle) that produces radio news for the Sámi people. The first regular radio programs in Sámi were broadcast in fall 1947. Sámi Radio has journalists in Inari, Utsjoki and Karesuvanto. Sámi languages ( ), in English also rendered as Sami and Saami, are a group of Uralic languages spoken by the Sámi people in Northern Europe (in parts of northern Finland, Norway, Sweden, and extreme northwestern Russia). There are, depending on the nature and terms of division, ten or more Sami languages. Sofia Jannok
Brita Maret "Sofia" Jannok (born 15 September 1982) is a Swedish Sami artist, singer, songwriter and radio host. Several times, she has publicly taken a stance in social media against the establishment of mines on land used by Sami reindeer herders. Together with Mariela Idivuoma, she was hostess of the Liet-Lávlut music festival in 2006. She has also hosted the program ''"Mailbmi – small people great music"'' on Swedish Radio P2, and the Sámi children's program '' Unna Junná'' for Yle. Her music is inspired from diverse musical influences, like folk, pop, jazz and yoik. She sings mostly in Northern Sami, but also sings and writes lyrics in Swedish and English as well. Sofia previously performed with Anna Kärrstedt in the duo ''"Sophia and Anna"''. She performed in Melodifestivalen 2009 with the song Waterloo in Sámi ("Čáhcceloo"). Yle Teema & Fem is a Finnish free-to-air television channel owned by Finnish state-broadcaster Yle. It was launched on 24 April 2017, after Yle Teema and Yle Fem merged to this channel. Teema & Fem is Yle's channel for culture, education, and science. The "Teema" hours focus on recordings of performing arts, classical music, art, and history documentaries, films, and themed programming. The channel also broadcasts Swedish-language news (including yle's Swedish-language evening bulletin TV-nytt), factual and children's programmes and entertainment as part of the "Fem" hours.
