The Mar del Plata Rugby Union ( es, Unión de Rugby de Mar del Plata), abbreviated URMDP, is the organisational body that rules the game of rugby union in Mar del Plata town and cities of the south of Buenos Aires Province. The stadium of Villa Marista is used for rugby matches played by the Union representative side. Apart from Mar del Plata, the Union has teams from the cities of Balcarce, Buenos Aires, Balcarce, Dolores, Buenos Aires, Dolores, Mar de Ajó, Miramar, Buenos Aires, Miramar, Necochea, Tandil and Villa Gesell. The union was founded in 1951, and become a member of the Argentine Rugby Union that same year. The Campeonato Argentino de Mayores (also known as Campeonato Argentino) was an annual rugby union competition held in Argentina for provincial teams. The Campeonato Argentino was strictly amateur, and only players from local clubs were allowed to play. It was organised by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR), with the last season held in 2017. The competing teams represented the unions of the rugby provinces that make up the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR). Sierra De Los Padres
Sierra de los Padres is a string of rocky hills and ridges about 14 miles west of Mar del Plata. They are part of the Tandilia's mountain range, actually a series of low, rocky hills extended from the central Buenos Aires Province to Cabo Corrientes, a cape on the shores of Mar del Plata. These peaks are barely 270 mt (900 feet) high, surrounded by farms in the lower lands and by an exclusive neighborhood built on their slopes. Pinamar is an Argentine coastal resort city located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Buenos Aires Province. It has about 45,000 inhabitants (2020).
