University Lake School
University Lake School is an independent school in Delafield, in the Lake Country area of Waukesha County in Wisconsin. ULS opened in 1956 on the 1840 Vettelson Farm near the eastern shore of Nagawicka Lake. Anne Vettelson deeded the land to the School on two conditions: that she be allowed to live the remainder of her life on the land and that students chop her fire wood each winter. University Lake School proudly sits on 180 acres of pristine woodland forest boasting a variety of managed ecological niches including restored prairie, crop and vegetable production, hardwood old-growth forest, and oak savannah. ULS is home to deer, turkeys, cranes, a blue heron rookery, domesticated chickens, managed bee hives, and a herd of goats. Delafield, Wisconsin
Delafield is a city in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, along the Bark River. The population was 7,085 at the 2010 census. The city of Delafield is a separate municipality from the Town of Delafield, both of which are situated in township 7 North Range 18 East. History Delafield was established in 1837, named after Dr. Charles Delafield of Milwaukee. It was the hometown of the Cushing brothers, who served the Union cause during the American Civil War—Alonzo (killed during Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg), William (led the raid on ), and Howard (an Indian fighter killed fighting the Apache in Arizona after the war). Molly Seidel (born July 12, 1994) is an American long distance runner. Seidel represented the United States at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country in 2012, 2013, and 2018. In her first-ever marathon, Seidel placed second at the 2020 U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials. Later, she went on to win the bronze medal in her third career marathon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
