Luminate Education Group (formerly Leeds City College Group) brings together a number of secondary, further and higher education institutions in Yorkshire, England. Secondary Education
Secondary education or post-primary education covers two phases on the International Standard Classification of Education scale. Level 2 or lower secondary education (less commonly junior secondary education) is considered the second and final phase of basic education, and level 3 (upper) secondary education or senior secondary education is the stage before tertiary education. Keighley College
Keighley ( ) is a market town and a civil parish in the City of Bradford Borough of West Yorkshire, England. It is the second largest settlement in the borough, after Bradford. Harrogate College
Harrogate College is a further education college in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. It traces its origins to the University Extension movement, which began in 1873 under the auspices of Cambridge University. It offers several levels of qualifications, including Further and Higher Education courses. Harrogate College relocated in 1985 to Hornbeam Park, after the older Bower Road location of the college in Harrogate closed. Leeds West Academy
Leeds West Academy is a secondary school with academy status in Rodley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is well known for specialising its area of education in the Performing Arts sector. History Leeds West Academy was founded in September 2009, and replaced Intake High School which was on the same site and had the same head teacher. The academy moved into new buildings on the site in September 2011. In 2019, the school formally closed its Sixth Form provision. Leeds East Academy
Leeds East Academy (formerly Parklands Girls High School) is a secondary school with academy status, in the Seacroft area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school was previously an all-girls school, being the last single-sex school in Leeds. Parklands Girls High School was particularly small for an urban secondary school with only around 350 pupils; it was this which suggested to Leeds City Council that segregated education was no longer popular and prompted them to make it a mixed school and it was renamed Parklands High School. The school is now an academy and has a partnership with Leeds West Academy and Leeds City Academy as part of The White Rose Academies Trust. Leeds City Academy (formerly City of Leeds School) is a mixed secondary school with academy status, located in Woodhouse, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school building was opened to pupils in 1992, although the City of Leeds School has existed on a different site for over 100 years. Leeds Conservatoire
Leeds Conservatoire (formerly known as The Leeds Music Centre, the City of Leeds College of Music, and Leeds College of Music) is a higher education music conservatoire based in the Quarry Hill district of Leeds, England. It was founded in 1965 by Joseph Stones. Aside from its education provision, which also includes short courses and programmes for adults and school-age musicians, Leeds Conservatoire hosts a seasonal programme of concerts, largely in its 350-seat auditorium 'The Venue'. In 2011, Leeds Conservatoire was awarded All-Steinway School status, becoming the only conservatoire in England to have 90% of its pianos from the Steinway family. Joseph Priestley College was a further education college founded in 1955 serving the communities of South Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It was named after Joseph Priestley, the famous scientist and co-discoverer of oxygen who was born nearby. Leeds Thomas Danby
Leeds Thomas Danby (formerly Thomas Danby College) was a further education college in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England offering courses for 16- to 18-year-olds and adults. The college was named after the first Mayor of Leeds, Captain Thomas Danby of Farnley. On 1 April 2009, Leeds Thomas Danby merged with Park Lane College and the Leeds College of Technology to form the new Leeds City College. The Leeds Thomas Danby site, on Roundhay Road in Leeds, was known as the Thomas Danby Campus of the new college. The site was closed in September 2013 due to serious concerns regarding asbestos. Leeds City College's new Printworks Campus, in Hunslet Road, opened in September 2013, replacing the Thomas Danby Campus. It was demolished in 2018 and the site is now used for commercial purposes.
