The University of Saint Paul-T (abbreviation: USP-T) was created on July 4, 2007 by presidential decree. It was the first "secular private university" of Argentine Northwest and Argentina. Location The university has its headquarters in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán. Its campus is located in the town of San Pablo (also known as Ingenio San Pablo), after which it is named. Institutes USP-T has established two strategic fields of knowledge: territorial competitiveness and Andean regional integration. The Argentine Northwest (''Noroeste Argentino'') is a geographic and historical region of Argentina composed of the provinces of Catamarca, Jujuy, La Rioja, Salta, Santiago del Estero and Tucumán. Geography The Argentine Northwest comprises very distinct biomes, or geographical and climatic regions. San Miguel De Tucumán
San Miguel de Tucumán (; usually called simply Tucumán) is the capital and largest city of Tucumán Province, located in northern Argentina from Buenos Aires. It is the fifth-largest city of Argentina after Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza and the most important of the northern region. The Spanish conquistador founded the city in 1565 in the course of an expedition from present-day Peru. Tucumán moved to its present site in 1685.
