United States National Baseball Team
The United States national baseball team represents the United States in international-level baseball competitions. The team is currently ranked 5th in the world by the World Baseball Softball Confederation. Team USA won the Olympic baseball tournament in 2000, and the World Baseball Classic (WBC) in 2017. The United States was an inaugural member of the World Baseball Classic, making its debut in the first edition. In their first three appearances in the WBC, the best finish for the Americans was fourth place in 2009. In 2017, the team won the WBC title for the first time. Team USA qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics by winning the eight-team Americas Qualifying Event in June 2021. In the Olympic competition, held in Tokyo in July and August 2021, the team won the silver medal, losing to hosts Japan in the gold medal game. USA Baseball
USA Baseball is the national governing body for organized baseball in the United States, and is a member of the United States Olympic Committee and the World Baseball Softball Confederation. The organization selects and trains the World Baseball Classic, Olympic, Premier12, and Pan American Games teams (and all other USA Baseball professional teams); the USA Baseball collegiate national team; the USA Baseball 18U, 15U, and 12U national teams; and the USA Baseball women's national team, all of which participate in various international competitions each year. In addition, USA Baseball selects players for the 14U, 16U, and 17U national team-development programs. Anthony Gose
Anthony Robert Gose (; born August 10, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher and outfielder in the Cleveland Guardians organization. Originally an outfielder, Gose transitioned from a center fielder to a pitcher, following the 2016 season. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, and the Cleveland Indians/Guardians. Early life Gose attended Bellflower High School in Bellflower, California. In his senior year, he had a .443 batting average, a .618 on-base percentage, and 31 stolen bases for the school's baseball team. He pitched for the team as well, throwing as fast as . Brandon Dickson
Brandon Lee Dickson (born November 3, 1984) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Orix Buffaloes. Career St. Louis Cardinals Dickson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2006, after attending Tusculum College. Anthony Scott Carter (born April 4, 1986) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously pitched for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball. He was a member of the United States national baseball team that won a silver medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Professional career Chicago White Sox Carter graduated from Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. He attended Georgia Perimeter College, and was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 26th round of the 2005 MLB draft. He made his professional debut in 2006 with the Bristol White Sox and spent the whole season there as a starter, going 2–8 with a 7.67 ERA across 63.1 innings. Shane Baz
Shane Austin Baz (born June 17, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021. Early life Baz was born to Lebanese father Raja and American mother Tammy. His father was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and played soccer in his native country before moving to the United States at the age of 15. Amateur career Baz attended Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas. As a junior, he had a 1.06 earned run average (ERA) with 46 strikeouts over 23 innings.
