United States National Arena Soccer Team
The United States National Arena Soccer Team is the indoor soccer team that represents the United States at international competitions. It is affiliated with Confederación Panamericana de Minifutbol (CPM) and the World Minifootball Federation (WMF). The first international arena match played by the U.S. National Arena Soccer Team was in July 2008 in Montreal, Canada where Mexico defeated the United States 6–4. The first international arena soccer match in the United States was held in July 2009 at NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas. The United States won the inaugural WMF World Cup in 2015 after going undefeated in group play defeating Germany and Romania in the knockout rounds en route to the final and prevailing over Mexico 5–3 in the final. Gordy Gurson
Gordy Gurson (born May 2, 1992, in Park Ridge, Illinois) is an American professional soccer player who currently plays for Utica City FC in the Major Arena Soccer League. Early life and education Gurson was raised in the Chicago suburb of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. He attended Stevenson High School where he was named to the All-State team in 2009. He spent his freshman year of college at the University of Memphis then the next three years at Robert Morris University Illinois where he was a three-time All-American. Pro career Gurson began his professional career playing for Chicago in the National Soccer League, where he received the Golden Boot Award with 40 scored goals in 17 played games. After playing for one season for Chicago, Gurson signed with the Seattle Impact of the Major Arena Soccer League prior to the team's inaugural season. The 2017 World Minifootball Federation World Cup was the second edition of the WMF World Cup, the world championship for men's national minifootball teams organized by the World Minifootball Federation. The tournament was contested in Nabeul city in Tunisia from 06–15 October 2017. The Milwaukee Wave is an American professional indoor soccer team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Founded in 1984, they have been the oldest continuously operating professional soccer team in the United States and are seven-time league champions, most recent being the 2018–19 champions of the Major Arena Soccer League. The team plays their games at the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena. The team colors are black and yellow. The Empire Strykers are an American professional indoor soccer team based in Ontario, California. Founded in 2013, the team made its debut in the Professional Arena Soccer League at the start of the 2013–14 season. The Kansas City Comets are an indoor soccer team based in Independence, Missouri, near Kansas City. Originally called the Missouri Comets, the team joined the Major Indoor Soccer League as an expansion team in the 2010–2011 season. Florida Tropics SC is a professional soccer club based in Lakeland, Florida. They are owned by Central Florida Sports Ventures, LLC, led by Dr. Panos Iakovidis, and former USL commissioner and Rochester Rhinos owner Chris Economides.
