United States Ambassador To Mongolia
This is a list of United States ambassadors to Mongolia. The United States established diplomatic relations with then-People's Republic of Mongolia on January 27, 1987. The embassy in Ulaanbaatar was opened Apr 17, 1988, with Steven Mann as Chargé d'Affaires ad interim. Richard Llewellyn Williams was the first ambassador to the Republic, and resided in the District of Columbia. The current Mongolian ambassador to the United States is Batbayar Ulziidelger, who succeeded Otgonbayar Yondon when he presented credentials on December 1, 2021. John R
John R. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) Later rock music disc jockeys, such as Alan Freed and Wolfman Jack, mimicked Richbourg's practice of using speech that simulated African-American street language of the mid-twentieth century. Richbourg's highly stylized approach to on-air presentation of both music and advertising earned him popularity, but it also created identity confusion. Jennifer Zimdahl Galt
Jennifer Ann Zimdahl Galt (born 1959) is a U.S. diplomat currently serving as the Foreign Policy Advisor to the United States Indo-Pacific Command. Galt was the United States Ambassador to Mongolia from 2015 to 2017. On May 6, 2015, President Barack Obama nominated Jennifer Zimdahl Galt to be Ambassador of the United States of America to Mongolia. She was confirmed by the Senate on August 5, 2015, and was sworn in on September 15, 2015. Piper Anne Wind Campbell (born 1965) is an adjunct professor and former American diplomat. She was the 9th U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia. From June to December 2018, she was the ''Chargé d'affaires ad interim'' at the United States Mission to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. She now teaches at American University's School of International Service. Campbell was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1965, the daughter of Gay and David N. Campbell. She attended Nichols School in Buffalo and was inspired to pursue a career in the Foreign Service after a study abroad program in Japan. She obtained a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1988 and joined the Foreign Service in 1989. Jonathan Addleton
Jonathan S. Addleton (born 1957) is an American diplomat and author. He served as the 8th U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia from 2009 to 2012. He is Current Rector of Forman Christian College (FCCU). Addleton was born in Pakistan, the son of Baptist missionaries from rural Georgia. He spent his early years with his parents in Upper Sind then attended the Murree Christian School, located at a former British Indian Himalayan hill station near the tiny crossroads town of Jhika Gali in the Murree hills of Rawalpindi District, Punjab province. He went on to attend college at Northwestern University, where he received his bachelor's in journalism. He later earned his MA and PhD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. As an undergraduate he was an intern and then a reporter at The Macon Telegraph.
