The United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan is based in New Delhi, India. It is one of 63 United Nations Information Centres (UNICs) located worldwide. These centres work globally under the direction of the Department of Public Information (DPI) of the United Nations Secretariat. Their objective is to keep the United Nations (UN) closer to the people of the world by delivering its messages in people's national and regional languages. António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres ( , ; born 30 April 1949) is a Portuguese politician and diplomat. Since 2017, he has served as secretary-general of the United Nations, the ninth person to hold this title.
