United Nations (Rui En Album)
United Nations () is Rui En's second studio album, released in October 2008. The album was produced by Hype Records and exclusively distributed at CD-Rama music stores, released only for the Singapore local market. It has been released on Apple iTunes. Rui En resumed the use of her Chinese name, 瑞恩 (Ruì'ēn) in this album. The album followed Rui En's six-year hiatus from the music industry and featured lyrics penned exclusively by the artist, written in the form of a diary documenting her thoughts and opinions. Loh Rui En (born 29 January 1981), better known by her stage name Rui En (瑞恩), is a Singaporean actress and was named as one of the Seven Princesses of Mediacorp in 2006. She was under contract of MediaCorp and managed under Hype Records. Early life Rui En was born on 29 January 1981 to a family consisting of her father, a property agent, and mother, a housewife. Her parents divorced when she was 17, and subsequently remarried to other persons when she in her 20s. C-Pop
C-pop is an abbreviation for Chinese popular music (), a loosely defined musical genre by artists originating from mainland China,Hong Kong and Taiwan (the Greater China region). Mando-pop
Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin.
