United Independents ( es, Independientes Unidos, IU) was a Chilean electoral pact that grouped together the United Centre, National Citizen Party and independent parties for the 2021 parliamentary and regional councilor elections. History The coalition was officially registered with the Electoral Service (Servel) on August 19, 2021. One of its leaders is the academic and television panelist Cristián Contreras Radovic, who seeks to run as a presidential candidate for the November 2021 election as a representative of United Centre. Initially, some media reported the alleged inclusion of National Force, an openly Pinochetist organization that is in formation as a political party, and which is headed by former deputy Hermógenes Pérez de Arce and lawyer Raúl Meza. Cristián Alejandro Contreras Radovic (born 21 December 1969), popularly known as Dr. File, is a Chilean journalist, writer, and philosopher known for spreading Conspiracy theory, conspiracy theories and pseudosciences in the Chilean media. He is the current leader of the political party United Centre (Chile), United Center, and was also a candidate for becoming a Senator of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, Metropolitan Region of Chile. Biography He was born in Viña del Mar and has a sister, Ángela Contreras, Ángela Contreras Radovic, who is an actress and a fellow supporter of the United Center party. His grandfather, Gracija Radović Ercegović (1913-1995) immigrated from Montenegro, Yugoslavia in 1926, when he was only 13 years old. United Centre (Chile)
The United Centre ( es, Centro Unido; CU) was a Chilean political party that defined itself as transversal and centrist. It was created in early 2021 and is in the process of being legalized by the Electoral Service. It was led by Cristián Contreras Radovic, who expressed interest in presenting a presidential candidacy in the 2021 elections, but later became a candidate for Senator. It held one seat in the Chamber of Deputies of Chile prior to its dissolution, after which its member sat as an independent. The party was dissolved in February 2022 because it did not receive at least 5% of votes in the 2021 parliamentary elections to maintain its legality.
