United Democratic Front (Pakistan)
United Democratic Front ( ur, قومی متحدہ محاذ ) was formed in Pakistan on 28 February 1973 in opposition to ruling Pakistan Peoples Party of Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. This was a coalition of eight opposition parties in the National Assembly and Senate comprising National Awami Party (NAP), United Pakistan Muslim League (PML under the leadership of spiritual leader of Hur Jamaat, Pir Pagaro), Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Pakistan Democratic Party (PDP), Khaksar Tehrik and Independent Group. The Pakistan People's Party ( ur, , ; PPP) is a centre-left, social-democratic political party in Pakistan. It is currently the third largest party in the National Assembly and second largest in the Senate of Pakistan. Zulfikar (or Zulfiqar) Ali Bhutto ( ur, , sd, ذوالفقار علي ڀٽو; 5 January 1928 – 4 April 1979), also known as Quaid-e-Awam ("the People's Leader"), was a Pakistani barrister, politician and statesman who served as the fourth President from 1971 to 1973, and later as the ninth Prime Minister of Pakistan from 1973 to 1977.
