The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) was a political alliance in Zambia formed to contest the 2006 general elections. History The UDA was formed on 1 March 2006 by the United Party for National Development (UPND), the United National Independence Party (UNIP) and the Forum for Democracy and Development, which between them had won 74 of the 150 elected seats in the National Assembly in the 2001 elections. The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is the current ruling political party in Kenya. Their slogan is "Kazi ni Kazi" (Work is work) and their symbol is a wheelbarrow .The party, initially called the Party of Development and Reforms, officially changed its name to UDA in December 2020. The party became notable in January 2021, and is linked to politicians allied to Dr. William Ruto, the President of Kenya. The United Democratic Alliance is a state-level political alliance in the Indian state of Nagaland. Background In the run-up to the 2018 Nagaland Legislative Assembly election, the ruling Naga People's Front split over whether to continue its coalition with the Bharatiya Janata Party. A rebel group led by former chief minister Neiphiu Rio created the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, and the NDPP and BJP contested the election in alliance. They won the election, and formed a coalition government under Rio, with the NPF serving as the opposition. The government was called the People's Democratic Alliance.
