Union is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the downtown area of Union Township, Union County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2010 census. The area is also known as Union Center. The CDP is bordered by Caldwell Avenue and Falls Terrace to the northwest, by Vauxhall Avenue and Haines Avenue to the northeast, by Warren Avenue to the east, by the Garden State Parkway to the southeast, by Burke Parkway to the southwest, and by Bond Drie, Rosemont Avenue, Stuyvesant Avenue, and Elmwood Avenue to the south. Connecticut Farms borders the neighborhood to the south. Springfield is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the downtown area of Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is bordered by Interstate 78 to the north, state route 577 and Meisel Avenue to the east, Cottage Lane to the south, Milltown Road, South Springfield Avenue, and Shunpike Road to the southwest, and Mountain Avenue, Caldwell Place, and Morris Avenue to the west. New Jersey Route 82
Route 82 is a short, state highway in Union County of the US state of New Jersey. It runs southeast from an intersection with Route 124 in Springfield Township along Morris Avenue to Route 439 in the Elizabeth general area. Along the route, it serves local businesses and the main arterial of Union Township. Near its eastern terminus at Route 439, Route 82 passes through Kean University, a state college in New Jersey. Route 82 originates as of one two Route S24 alignments designated in the 1927 state highway renumbering. A spur of Route 24, it lasted for 26 years untouched until the 1953 state highway renumbering, when Union County's Route S-24 was designated as Route 82 and a portion of Route 439. Garden State Parkway
The Garden State Parkway (GSP) is a controlled-access toll road that stretches the north–south length of eastern New Jersey from the state's southernmost tip near Cape May to the New York state line at Montvale. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. It was developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the United States Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to promote the standardization of feature names.
