Unia Tczew
Unia Tczew is a sports club based in Tczew, Poland. The sports club was created in 1922 and is separated into two areas, football and rowing. Football The club was founded in 1922 as ''Tczewski Sports Club'' changing its name in 1924 to ''TKS Olympia Tczew''. In 1929 the team joined the Pomeranian OZPN and received support from the Railway Military Training and as a result became ''KPW Unia Tczew''. In 1938, the Unia achieved their greatest success in their inter-war history - 3rd place in Class A (second tier). In the 2006–07 season, Unia advanced from the District Class to the IV liga. Unia remained in the league until the 2008–09 season, when the team appeared in the reformed Pomeranian IV liga (fifth level). In 2009, the football section was merged with Wisła Tczew creating Gryf 2009 Tczew. After the merger the club never officially reformed with a first team in the Polish leagues. Kociewie
Kociewie is an ethnocultural region in the eastern part of Tuchola Forest, in northern Poland, Pomerania, south of Gdańsk. Its cultural capital is Starogard Gdański, the biggest town is Tczew, while other major towns include Świecie, Pelplin, and Skórcz. The region has about 250,000 inhabitants. It has well-developed industry and agriculture. Kociewians The Kociewians are a Polish ethnographical group. Most of the Kociewiacy are Roman Catholics. They live next to a far more prominent ethnic group in the area, the Kashubians. In the 2011 census, 3065 individuals declared themselves as Kociewiacy, an increase since the census of 2002, when nobody identified as such. Kocievian dialect, unlike Kashubian, is mostly intelligible with mainstream Polish language. Despite geographic proximity, these two dialects are very dissimilar, with Kocievian being much closer to Kuyavian, to the point of some scholars calling it a variant of that dialect. Tczew
Tczew (, csb, Dërszewò; formerly ) is a city on the Vistula River in Pomerelia, Eastern Pomerania, Kociewie, northern Poland with 59,111 inhabitants (December 2021). The city is known for its Old Town and the Vistula Bridge, or Bridge of Tczew, which played a key role in the Invasion of Poland during World War II. It is the capital of Tczew County in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the largest town of the ethnocultural region of Kociewie. Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. Polish Cup
The Polish Cup in football ( pl, Puchar Polski w piłce nożnej ) is an elimination tournament for Polish football clubs, held continuously from 1950, and is the second most important national title in Polish football after the Ekstraklasa title. Due to mass participation of teams, the tournament is often called ''The Cup of the Thousand Teams'' ( pl, Puchar Tysiąca Drużyn ). Participation is open to any club registered with the Polish FA, regardless of whether it competes in any league in the national pyramid. Reserve and veteran teams are also eligible, with reserve teams reaching the final on two occasions (and winning it once). The Maritime and Colonial League (Polish: ''Liga Morska i Kolonialna'') was a mass Polish social organization, created in 1930 out of the Maritime and River League (Liga Morska i Rzeczna). In the late 1930s it was directed by general Mariusz Zaruski and its purpose was to educate the Polish nation about maritime issues.
