UniAIMOV
UniAIMOV also known as just AIMOV is a Light Armored vehicle based on the Land Rover Defender chassis developed and manufactured by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Design AIMOV is a 4x4 light armored High-Mobility/Forward Command vehicle built on Land Rover chassis with seating for 5 including driver and operator. External racks have been added for 4-8 men to easily hang on to the vehicle during emergency exfiltration. It is protected from land mines and hand grenades. The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) ( ''Shri Lanka Viduli Ha Yanthrika Injineru Rejimentuwa'') is a Combat Support corps of the Sri Lanka Army. Unibuffel
The Unibuffel is a mine-protected wheeled MRAP Infantry mobility vehicle used by the Sri Lankan military, which is an improved version of the Unicorn, made by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. More than 53 Unibuffels had been manufactured as of 2006. Production history Although similar to the South African Buffel, it is built entirely by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME). Unicorn APC
The Unicorn is a MRAP used by the Sri Lankan military based on the Buffel, which is made by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Production history Initial research into producing a "Blast Protected Vehicle" armoured personnel carrier was led by then Major Jayantha de Silva, who was concerned by the destruction and use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) that the Tamil rebels began using on military troop transport vehicles. These IEDs became rampant in the north and eastern provinces with the escalation of the Sri Lankan Civil War. The Snatch Land Rover is a protected patrol vehicle based on the Land Rover Defender 110 chassis. The MDT David is an ultra light armored personnel carrier and light Armored Vehicle assembled by MDT Armor Corporation for the Israeli Security Forces.
