The ''Unedited'' box set is a 'deluxe limited edition collectors box set' by British Indie rock band Editors, released on 28 March 2011. The set covers not only the three officially released albums, '' The Back Room'', ''An End Has a Start'' and ''In This Light and on This Evening'' but also b-sides and rarities. The first 200 copies would receive a signed card with hand written lyrics by Tom Smith when pre-ordered in December 2010. In addition to that, the name of each person who pre-ordered the box before 16 December 2010 would be featured in the photo book as a special credit. The box comes as a 12" presentation box, featuring: * A 12" 100 page photo-art book * 7 CDs * 7 Heavy Weight vinyl LPs * The full audio contents as a 320 kbit/s MP3 download The CDs and LPs are each packed in 12" book, whereas in addition the LPs are housed in individual wallets which feature new artwork for each album plus the track listing. The Back Room (album)
''The Back Room'' is the debut studio album by British rock band Editors, released on 25 July 2005 through Kitchenware Records. They formed while attending university, and later migrated to Birmingham, where they would play club shows and make demos. After signing to Kitchenware in late 2004, the band recorded their debut album at three different studios in Lincolnshire, London and Wolverhampton. The majority of the album had been produced by Jim Abbiss, save for one track that was produced by Gavin Monaghan. ''The Back Room'' is a post-punk revival, gothic rock and indie pop album that has been compared to the various works of Echo & the Bunnymen, Elbow and Interpol. Editors (band)
Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals), and Benjamin John Power (composer and producer). Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and six in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album '' The Back Room'' was released in 2005. French Disko
''Jenny Ondioline'' is a 1993 EP by the Anglo-French band Stereolab, which served as the lead single from the album '' Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements''. It was released on CD and 10" vinyl. Its tracks were later re-released on the ''Oscillons from the Anti-Sun'' compilation. In the UK, some copies were stickered with the message "Includes ''French Disco''", due to that track receiving an unexpected amount of airplay on British radio. "French Disco" was also given co-billing with "Jenny Ondioline" on the UK Singles chart, on which it was Stereolab's first entry, peaking at number 75. The EP was the first Stereolab release on Elektra Records in the USA. At the group's request, and in keeping with their "retro" aesthetic, the artwork for this and most subsequent Stereolab releases used the 1970s Elektra logo (a slightly revised version of which was subsequently reintroduced and remains in use today) instead of the then-current logo. "Bullets" is the debut single by British post-punk revival band Editors, originally released 24 January 2005. It is from their 2005 debut album, '' The Back Room''. The single was mixed by Cenzo Townshend and the video made for the song was directed by Mike Brady. Both editions of the original single were limited to 500 copies. It was then re-released on 26 September 2005 as the fourth single from the album. A new single version was re-recorded and produced by Jacknife Lee and a second video was made for the song, directed by Martin de Thurah Martin de Thurah (born 29 April 1974 in Copenhagen) is a Danish film director, screenwriter, cinematographer and music video director. "Last Day" is a limited release single by the indie rock band Editors. It was released on vinyl as part of Record Store Day on Saturday 17 April 2010, and is limited to 1000 copies. The Cure
The Cure are an English Rock music, rock band formed in 1978 in Crawley, Crawley, West Sussex. Stereolab
Stereolab are an Anglo- French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990. Led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier, the group's music combines influences from krautrock, lounge and 1960s pop music, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French. Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the Surrealist and Situationist movements. On stage, they play in a more feedback-driven and guitar-oriented style. "Orange Crush" is a song by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. It was released as the first single from the band's sixth studio album, ''Green'', in 1988. It was not commercially released in the U.S. despite reaching number one as a promotional single on both the Mainstream and Modern Rock Tracks (where, at the time, it had the record for longest stay at number one with eight weeks, beating U2). It peaked at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart, making it the band's then-highest chart hit in Britain, where they promoted the song by making their debut appearance on ''Top of the Pops''. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population.
