Undy A.F.C.
Undy Athletic Football Club is a Welsh association football club based in the village of Undy, Monmouthshire. The club plays in the Ardal South East league (Tier 3). History The club was formed in 1947, playing at local level in South Wales and winning the Argus Cup 3 times in 15 years. However, in 1962 the club disbanded as a result of financial difficulties. In 1970, the club reformed and maintained a consistent existence in the local leagues, winning the Gwent County League Division One in 2011 and reaching the Welsh Football League for the first time, entering in Division Three. They won promotion at the first attempt, and then under the guidance of Manager Laurence Owen, sealed their highest ever position in 2016 when they finished third in Division Two and earned promotion to Welsh Football League Division One, finishing in the top half of the top division in their first two seasons, step 2 on the Welsh football pyramid. Undy
Undy ( cy, Gwndy) is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales, adjoining the village of Magor with which it forms the community and parish of Magor with Undy. It is located about west of Caldicot and east of Newport, close to the junction of the M4 and M48 motorways, and adjoins the Caldicot Levels on the north bank of the Bristol Channel. History The area was first settled in Roman times. In 1996 a stone coffin dating from the 3rd or 4th century was found during building work, containing the skeleton of a young woman. The village name is of uncertain origin. Previous spellings include Wondy, as noted by William Camden in 1610. The manor was an early seat of the Seymour family. Gibraltar National Football Team
The Gibraltar national football team represents Gibraltar in international football competitions, and is controlled by the Gibraltar Football Association. Gibraltar applied for full UEFA membership and was accepted by the UEFA Congress in May 2013. It can therefore compete in the UEFA European Championship starting with the 2016 tournament for which the team competed in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group D. On 13 May 2016 Gibraltar became a member of FIFA at the governing body's 66th Congress which was held in Mexico City. Jamie Coombes
James Timothy Barry Coombes (born 27 May 1996) is a Gibraltarian footballer who plays for Bruno's Magpies and the Gibraltar national team. Mainly a striker, he can also play as an attacking midfielder. His cousin is Magpies teammate and defender Lee Coombes. Club career Coombes began his career with cousin Lee at Europa, playing for them in their first season in the UEFA Europa League. Despite attracting the attention of several clubs from England and France, Coombes opted to sign for Manchester 62 in 2015, scoring 4 goals in an ultimately unsuccessful season at the club.
