The National Arts Centre (NAC) (french: Centre national des Arts) is a performing arts organisation in Ottawa, Ontario, along the Rideau Canal. Donna Feore
Donna Feore (née Starnes, born June 20, 1963) is a Canadian choreographer and theatre director, most noted for her work with the National Arts Centre and the Stratford Festival. Early life Donna Starnes was born in Dawson Creek, British Columbia on June 20, 1963. She grew up in Prince George, British Columbia. She began training in ballet at age seven and, after moving to Vancouver, studied at the Pacific Ballet Theatre. Career After being seen by Brian Macdonald in a revue at the Imperial Lounge at Toronto's Royal York Hotel, Feore was cast to make her Stratford debut, as Donna Starnes, in 1990 as a featured dancer in ''Guys and Dolls''. Measha Brueggergosman
Measha Brueggergosman (née Gosman; June 28, 1977) is a Canadian soprano who performs both as an opera singer and concert artist. She has performed internationally and won numerous awards. Her recordings of both classical and popular music have also received awards. Background She was born Measha Gosman in Fredericton, New Brunswick, to Anne Eatmon and Sterling Gosman. As a child, Gosman began singing in the choir of her local Baptist church, where her father served as a deacon. She studied voice and piano from the age of seven. As a teen, she took voice lessons in her home town, and spent summers on scholarships at the Boston Conservatory and at a choral camp in Rothesay, New Brunswick. She studied for one year with New Brunswick soprano Wendy Nielsen, before moving on to studies at the University of Toronto, where she obtained a B.Mus. Ana Sokolovic ( sr-cyr, Ана Соколовић; born 1968) is a Canadian music composer based in Montreal, Quebec, whose contemporary pieces have won several awards in Canada. Career Sokolovic studied composition under Dušan Radić at the University of Novi Sad and Zoran Erić at the University of Arts in Belgrade. She received her masters in composition from the Université de Montréal studying under José Evangelista. Sokolovic's repertoire is wide, covering theatrical, chamber, operatic, orchestral, and vocal genres. The Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ) dedicated the "Hommage Series" to Sokolovic for the 2011–2012 season, marking the twenty years since she immigrated to Quebec. The National Arts Centre Orchestra (NAC Orchestra) is a Canadian orchestra based in Ottawa, Ontario led by music director Alexander Shelley.
