''Undercover'' is a 2019 Belgian-Dutch Dutch-language crime drama streaming television series starring Tom Waes, Anna Drijver and Frank Lammers. The plot revolves around a story inspired by real-life events, where undercover agents infiltrate a drug kingpin's operation in Limburg, a Flemish province bordering the Netherlands. The infiltration is executed by two agents, Bob Lemmens (Tom Waes) and Kim de Rooij (Anna Drijver), who are posing as a couple at the campground where the drug kingpin spends his weekends. It is a co-production between Netflix and public Belgium TV station Eén, and was ordered direct-to-series. The first season premiered on Eén on February 24, 2019, in Belgium; its second season is scheduled for a September 6, 2020 release on Eén. The series began streaming on Netflix on May 3, 2019. Tom Waes
Tom Yvo Adrien Waes (born 7 November 1968) is a Belgian television presenter, television director, actor, model, and occasional singer. Internationally he is most know for his role in the Netflix series Undercover. In addition, Waes is an ambassador for the non-profit organization Sea Shepherd. Biography After high school, Waes studied Germanic philology for a year and then trained as a deep-sea diver in Scotland, after which he worked on drilling platforms as a deep-sea diver for several years. Television and film career Before becoming known to the general public, Waes made films for De ''Quizmaster'' and ''De laatste show'' and had a role in ''De Zaak Alzheimer''. Kris Cuppens (born 22 May 1962) is a Belgian actor and writer. Cuppens was born in Neeroeteren and discovered theatre in secondary school. He studied architecture at university, but rediscovered his love for the theatre during an audition for Jan Fabre in Brussels. After studying acting at the royal conservatory, he left Belgium for New York, to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
