"Una lacrima sul viso" (Italian for ''A Tear on your Face'') is a song composed by Lunero and Mogol and performed by Bobby Solo. The song premiered at the fourteenth Sanremo Music Festival, with a double performance by Solo and Frankie Laine, who proposed an English version of the song with the title "For Your Love". The song entered the final, but Solo was affected by laryngitis. Unable to sing live, he sang with playback, being subsequently disqualified. The single peaked at first place for nine consecutive weeks on the Italian hit parade. It sold over three million copies worldwide, and it was awarded a gold disc. Roberto Satti better known as Bobby Solo (born 18 March 1945) is an Italian singer, musician and film actor. Singing career In 1964, Solo participated in the Sanremo Music Festival with the song " Una lacrima sul viso" ("A Tear on your Face", written by "Lunero"), but affected by laryngitis, he sang with playback, which disqualified him as that was contrary to the festival regulations. The song, however, became a global hit. It was the first record to sell over one million copies in Italy, and global sales exceeded three million. It was awarded a gold disc. In the following year Solo won in the festival with the song "Se piangi, se ridi". He participated with the same song in the Eurovision Song Contest and finished in fifth place. Again in 1969 Solo participated in the Sanremo Festival, with the song " Zingara", together with Iva Zanicchi. ''When I Was a Singer'' (french: Quand j'étais chanteur) is a 2006 French musical romantic drama film starring Gérard Depardieu and Cécile de France. It was written and directed by Xavier Giannoli. Plot Alain Moreau sings for one of the few remaining dance-bands in Clermont-Ferrand. Though something of an idol amongst his female audience he has a melancholic awareness of the slow disappearance of that audience and of his advancing years. Musicarello
The musicarello (; plural: musicarelli) is a film subgenre which emerged in Italy and which is characterised by the presence in main roles of young singers, already famous among their peers, and their new record album. In the films there are almost always tender and chaste love stories accompanied by the desire to have fun and dance without thoughts. Musicarelli reflect the desire and need for emancipation of young Italians, highlighting some generational frictions. The genre began in the late 1950s, and had its peak of production in the 1960s.
