''A Strange Passion'' () is a 1984 French drama film directed by Jean-Pierre Dougnac, starring Brigitte Fossey, Fernando Rey and Saverio Marconi. The story is set in Italy in the late 18th century. Roger Planchon
Roger Planchon (born 12 September 1931 in Saint-Chamond, Loire, died on 12 May 2009 in Paris), was a French playwright, Film director, director, and filmmaker. Biography Roger Planchon spent his childhood in the Ardèche, notably in Dornas. He found its inspiration from his rural origins and this issue was a recurring theme in his writings. He started on stage in 1949 after winning an amateur theater. In 1952, he founded the Théâtre de la Comédie, located in the rue des Marronniers, in Lyon. He was the director of the Théâtre de la Cité of Villeurbanne since 1957 (which became the Théâtre National Populaire in 1972). Roger Planchon transposed many works by Brecht, Molière, Shakespeare, and many works of contemporary authors, including Arthur Adamov and Michel Vinaver, but also opened the Théâtre National Populaire to Patrice Chéreau, then Georges Lavaudant. Miranda Martino (born 29 October 1933) is an Italian singer and actress. Life and career Born in Moggio Udinese from Neapolitan parents, Martino started her career as singer in 1956. In 1957, she debuted at the Festival di Napoli and in 1959 she made her first appearance at the Sanremo Music Festival, with the song "La vita mi ha dato solo te". In the same year she obtained her first commercial success with the song "Stasera tornerò", which ranked 11 in the Italian Hit Parade. Then she entered the two following editions of the Festival di Sanremo and in 1961 three of her songs entered the Top Ten ("Erano nuvole", "Frenesia" and "Serenatella c'o sì e c'o no"). Remo Remotti
Remo Remotti (16 November 1924 – 21 June 2015) was an Italian actor, playwright, artist and poet. Life and career Born in Rome, Remotti lost his father at 12 years old, then after graduating in Law he moved to Perù, where he attended an art school and began painting. Following the bankruptcy of the taxi company he had founded in Perù, seven years later he returned to Italy where he married Maria Luisa Loy, the sister of the director and screenwriter Nanni Loy, and started an activity as a playwright, often also directing and acting his comedy plays. He was later requested by some theatrical companies for character roles, and in the late 1970s he began a proficuous film career as a character actor. A painter and a sculptor, some of his works are exhibited at the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna. He was also a composer of poems, usually sonnets in Roman dialect.
