Umbarger ( ) is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Randall County, Texas, United States. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had an estimated population of 327 in 2000. The community is part of the Amarillo, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Umbarger is located at (34.9545022, -96.2510895). The community is situated along U.S. Highway 60 in west central Randall County, approximately 10 miles southwest of Canyon and 26 miles southwest of Amarillo. Climate According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Umbarger has a semi-arid climate, abbreviated "BSk" on climate maps. History The origins of the community date back to the mid-1890s. Schulenburg, Texas
Schulenburg is a city in Fayette County, Texas, Fayette County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,633 at the 2020 census. Known for its German Texan, German culture, Schulenburg is home of the Texas Polka Music Museum. It is in a rural, agricultural area settled by German and Czech emigrants in the 1800s. History In 1831, the First Mexican Republic, Mexican government granted of land to Kesiah Crier. Crier's family and the James Lyons family were the first European-American settlers in the area. The town of Schulenburg developed from two nearby communities: Lyons, founded in 1842, and High Hill, settled in 1842 and later named in 1858. Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge
290px Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge is a protected area in Randall County in the Texas Panhandle. Its shortgrass prairies spill into marshes, woodlands, riparian habitat, croplands, and water-carved canyon walls that together form of homes for migratory and year-round wildlife. The area forms a habitat for black-tailed prairie dogs and burrowing owls, among many other species. Some of the refuge carries the designation of National Natural Landmark. Buffalo Lake NWR lies within a canyon carved by Tierra Blanca Creek, an ephemeral stream that stretches across northern portions of the Llano Estacado. The discharge of this stream is highly variable, and it is not unusual for the creek to dry out completely. Alberto Burri (12 March 191513 February 1995; ) was an Italian visual artist, painter, sculptor, and physician based in Città di Castello. He is associated with the matterism of the European informal art movement and described his style as a polymaterialist. Stained glass is coloured glass as a material or works created from it.
