Ultimatum (EP)
''Ultimatum'' is an EP by indie rock band The Long Winters. It was released by Barsuk Records on October 11, 2005, featuring six tracks, four of which were new songs released as a preview for their later release '' Putting the Days to Bed''. The band's line-up on ''Ultimatum'' varies from the line-ups featured on the band's previous two LPs, '' The Worst You Can Do Is Harm'' and ''When I Pretend to Fall''. While John Roderick and Eric Corson remain on guitar/vocals and bass/vocals respectively, Mike Squires has been added as an additional guitarist and keyboardist, and Nabil Ayers is the band's latest percussionist. Matt Chamberlain played drums on "The Commander Thinks Aloud". "The Commander Thinks Aloud" appeared as a remix on MoveOn.org's ''Future Soundtrack for America'' compilation in 2004. Nightstick (band)
Nightstick is an American sludge metal band from Weymouth, Massachusetts. The band was formed by -Siege drummer Rob Williams. Nightstick is well known for their unique stage shows which feature a dancing clown called Padoinka. Padoinka the clown is widely considered to be the fourth member of the band and has featured heavily on the art work of all three full-length albums. Nightstick was given the key to the city of Weymouth by the mayor Sue Kay. Nabil Ayers
Nabil Ayers is an American music industry entrepreneur, author and musician. Ayers' debut memoir, ''My Life in the Sunshine,'' was published by Viking Press on June 7, 2022. The book focuses on Ayers' relationship with his father, the jazz musician Roy Ayers, growing up as a mixed-race person in America, and Ayers' life in the music industry. The title, ''My Life in the Sunshine'', is a reference to the Roy Ayers song, "Everybody Loves the Sunshine." In a June 4, 2022 CBS Saturday Morning segment, Ayers, when asked about how the memoir portrays his father, stated, "In the end, it's positive. Christopher Ender Carrabba (born April 10, 1975) is the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dashboard Confessional, lead singer of the band Further Seems Forever, and is the vocalist for the folk band Twin Forks. Early life and education Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States, Carrabba's parents divorced when he was three. At age 16, he moved with his mother Anne, brother Nick, stepbrother and stepfather to Boca Raton, Florida. Each CD bore the legend, "100% of our profits from this CD will go to non-profit progressive organizations working to involve more Americans in our political process, to advocate for ordinary people and traditional American values, and to help keep the United States a country all of us can be proud of. Thank you for your support." Most songs were either rare or exclusive to this compilation album at the time it was released. Matthew Chamberlain (born April 17, 1967) is an American session musician, drummer, producer and songwriter. Biography Life and career Chamberlain was born in San Pedro, California on April 17, 1967. He began learning how to play the drums at 15 years old, taking lessons with David Garibaldi from the band Tower of Power. He attended North Texas State's music program, leaving after less than a year. After leaving college, he moved to Dallas, Texas and played with multiple bands, often taking on small gigs. While in Texas, he was hired to play drums on tour with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, and he recorded two records with the band before they broke up in 1991. Mike Squires (born December 28, 1971) is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist in the hard rock group Loaded, the group led by Velvet Revolver and Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan. Previously, he was a member of a number of Seattle-based groups such as Eat the Feeling, Nevada Bachelors, Harvey Danger, Alien Crime Syndicate and The Long Winters which featured former members of The Western State Hurricanes, Harvey Danger and Death Cab for Cutie among others. The Long Winters
The Long Winters are an American indie rock band based in Seattle, Washington. History Singer-songwriter John Roderick was born in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. He later returned to Seattle, where he formed the Bun Family Players and The Western State Hurricanes. Following the disbandment of the latter, he was touring keyboardist for Harvey Danger. In 2001, Harvey Danger singer-songwriter Sean Nelson suggested that he and Roderick record an album—half of the songs penned by Roderick, and the other half by Nelson. Death Cab for Cutie band member Chris Walla had recently opened up the Hall of Justice studio in Seattle and agreed to help them record. John Morgan Roderick (born September 13, 1968) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, podcaster, and politician. He is the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band The Long Winters, was a touring member of the rock band Harvey Danger, and co-hosts the podcasts ''Roderick On The Line'', ''Road Work'', and ''Omnibus''. Early life Roderick was born in Seattle on September 13, 1968, the son of Marcia and David Roderick. His father was a Washington State legislator and World War II veteran.
