Ulf Nilsson (author)
Ulf Lennart Nilsson (18 September 1948 – 22 September 2021) was a Swedish writer who published more than 100 books and picture books, geared mainly to children and adolescents. He was also the longtime president of the Swedish Academy for Children's Books. A number of his works have been translated into English by Gecko Press. Nilsson died on 22 September 2021, at the age of 73. Helsingborg
Helsingborg (, , , ) is a city and the seat of Helsingborg Municipality, Scania (Skåne), Sweden. It is the second-largest city in Scania (after Malmö) and ninth-largest in Sweden, with a population of 113,816 (2020). Helsingborg is the central urban area of northwestern Scania and Sweden's closest point to Denmark: the Danish city Helsingør is clearly visible about to the west on the other side of the Øresund. The HH Ferry route across the sound has more than 70 car ferry departures from each harbour every day. Historic Helsingborg, with its many old buildings, is a scenic coastal city. Astrid Lindgren Prize
The Astrid Lindgren-priset, or Astrid Lindgren Prize in English, is a Swedish literary award for children's literature named after the Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren. The prize was instituted by the publishing house Rabén & Sjögren in 1967 to honour Lindgren on her 60th birthday. Children's Literature
Children's literature or juvenile literature includes stories, books, magazines, and poems that are created for children. Modern children's literature is classified in two different ways: genre or the intended age of the reader. Children's literature can be traced to traditional stories like fairy tales, that have only been identified as children's literature in the eighteenth century, and songs, part of a wider oral tradition, that adults shared with children before publishing existed. The development of early children's literature, before printing was invented, is difficult to trace.
