Ukrainian National Chornobyl Museum
The Ukrainian National Chernobyl Museum ('' uk, Український національний музей "Чорнобиль", Ukrayins'kyy natsional'nyy muzey "Chornobyl'"'') is a history museum in Kyiv, Ukraine, dedicated to the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and its consequences. It houses an extensive collection of visual media, artifacts, scale models, and other representational items designed to educate the public about many aspects of the disaster. Several exhibits depict the technical progression of the accident, and there are also many areas dedicated to the loss of life and cultural ramifications of the disaster. Due to the nature of the subject material, the museum provides a very visually engaging experience. The museum occupies an early 20th-century building which formerly housed a fire brigade and was donated in 1992 by the State Fire Protection Guard. Kontraktova Ploshcha (Kyiv Metro)
Kontraktova Ploshcha ( uk, Контрактова площа, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Obolonsko–Teremkivska Line. The station was opened on 17 December 1976, and is named after Kyiv's Kontraktova Square (''Contract's Square'') in the historic Podil neighborhood. It was designed by B.I. Pryimak, I.K. Maslenynkov, and F.M. Zaremba. The station was formerly known as ''Chervona Ploscha'' ( uk, Червона площа) until 1990. The station is located shallow underground and consists of a central hall with columns. The columns and the walls along the tracks have been covered with green-brown coloured marble. Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant
The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP; ; ), is a nuclear power plant undergoing decommissioning. ChNPP is located near the abandoned city of Pripyat in northern Ukraine northwest of the city of Chernobyl, from the Belarus–Ukraine border, and about north of Kyiv. The plant was cooled by an engineered pond, fed by the Pripyat River about northwest from its juncture with the Dnieper. ChNPP was commissioned in phases with the four reactors entering commercial operation between 1978 and 1984. In 1986, reactor No. 4 was the site of the Chernobyl disaster; as a result of this, the power plant is now within a large restricted area known as the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Kyiv Tram
The Kyiv Tram is a tram network which serves the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The system was the first electric tramway in the former Russian Empire and the fourth one in Europe after the Berlin and the Budapest and Prague tramways.
