Uki Workboat Oy (Finnish language, Finnish: Uudenkaupungin Työvene Oy) is a Finland, Finnish shipyard located in Uusikaupunki on the Western coast of Finland. The company specializes in small and medium-sized vessels for professional use, ranging from aluminium-hulled workboats to steel-hulled multipurpose ships and road ferries. The facilities consist of one slipway and production halls where boats up to a length of can be manufactured indoors. Finnish Navy
The Finnish Navy ( fi, Merivoimat, sv, Marinen) is one of the branches of the Finnish Defence Forces. The navy employs 2,300 people and about 4,300 conscripts are trained each year. Finnish Navy vessels are given the ship prefix "FNS", short for "Finnish Navy ship", but this is not used in Finnish language contexts. Västtrafik
Västtrafik is the agency responsible for public transport services involving buses, ferries, trains, and the Gothenburg tram network in the county of Västra Götaland, Sweden (plus Kungsbacka Municipality). It was established with the Västra Götaland County on 1 January 1998. Until 31 December 2011 the ownership was shared equally between the Västra Götaland Regional Council and the 49 municipalities in the region, from 1 January 2012 the county council is the sole owner. Pansio-class Minelayer
The ''Pansio''-class minelayers are a three-strong class of mine warfare vessels used by the Finnish Navy, built between 1991 and 1992. The vessels can also be used for transport or to supply the naval forts. The vessels can carry a 100-ton load. The ships are referred to as "mine ferries" in the Finnish Navy. Mid-life upgrade The three vessels went through a mid-life upgrade between 2015 and 2017, and are now expected to serve until the 2030s. HMC Protector
HMC ''Protector'' is a Border Force (customs) cutter of the United Kingdom, formerly the ''Tavi'' of the Finnish Border Guard. She was built by Uki Workboat in Finland and was acquired by the UK Border Force in 2013. After a period of refit, the vessel was commissioned by the then Home Secretary Theresa May on 17 March 2014. ''Protector'' replaced HMC ''Sentinel'', which was retired in 2013. Fabian Wrede-class Training Ship
''Fabian Wrede'' class consists of three training ships used by Finnish Navy. The ships are used by the Naval academy of Finland for basic seamanship training, with particular emphasis on navigation in coastal and archipelago waters. The vessels in the class are ''Fabian Wrede'', '' Wilhelm Carpelan'' and '' Axel von Fersen''. All ships were built by Uudenkaupungin työvene Oy and commissioned between 2006 and 2008. The ships will replace the old Heikki class training ships. Design Fabian Wrede class ships are built with steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
