USS Wannalancet (YTB-385)
USS Wannalancet (YTB-385), projected as YT-385, later YTM-385, was a United States Navy Tugboat#Harbour, harbor tug in commission from 1944 to 1946. ''Wannalancet'' was launched as a harbor tug designated YT-385 on 12 January 1944 by Ira S. Bushey and Sons at Brooklyn, New York, Brooklyn, New York (state), New York. Her class of tugs was reclassified as large harbor tugs and given "YTB" hull classifications before she was completed, and she was designated YTB-385 by the time she was completed in May 1944. Assigned to Service Force, United States Pacific Fleet, soon thereafter, ''Wannalancet'' operated in support of the fleet during World War II. ''Wannalancet'' was placed in reserve in March 1946 at San Diego, California, San Diego, California. Wonalancet (Sachem)
Wonalancet (16191697) also spelled Wannalancet and Wannalancit and probably Wanaloset and Wanalosett — was a sachem or Sagamore (title), sagamore of the Pennacook, Penacook Indians. He was the son of Passaconaway. Biography Wonalancet was born 1619 after one of the worst epidemics in human history killed 75-90% of the populations of the indigenous peoples of New England. He was supposedly born near Pawtucket Falls (Massachusetts), Pawtucket Falls in what is now Lowell, Massachusetts, where his father was politically active trying to bring political stability among allies. He was most likely the second son of his father, Passaconaway, whose Pennacook, Penacook or Pennacook confederation of Upper Merrimack bands was at the time closely allied with the Pawtucket tribe, Pawtucket confederation of bands along the lower Merrimack (as well as the coastal tribes from the North Shore to the Saco in Maine). The United States Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT) is a theater-level component command of the United States Navy, located in the Pacific Ocean. It provides naval forces to the Indo-Pacific Command. Penacook, originally called "Fisherville", is a village within the city of Concord in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States. It lies along Concord's northern border with Boscawen. The name comes from the Pennacook tribe that lived in the area. "Penacook" (''Pennycook'') was the original name of the plantation incorporated by present-day Concord.
