USA Hawks
The USA Hawks is a USA Rugby and MLR funded rugby development side, in 2023 a squad was formed to play a number of South American teams. It was one of two national representative rugby union teams from the United States that competed in the North America 4 Series. History Formation The Hawks were founded in 2005 by the NA4 Committee. The NA4 Committee is made up of the International Rugby Board, Rugby Canada and USA Rugby. The committee is charged with operating and financing the four North American teams (the others being the USA Falcons, Canada East, and Canada West). In 2008, however, each franchise will be sold and become privately owned. Inaugural Competition: 2006 North America 4 Series The Hawks' first ever match occurred on 20 May 2006 during the inaugural NA 4 Series. They faced Canada West in pool play and were defeated 46–7. Yacare XV
Yacare XV is a Paraguayan professional rugby union team based in Asunción. The team was founded in 2019 AS Olimpia Lions to compete in Súper Liga Americana de Rugby. Olimpia Lions was an offshoot of the Club Olimpia sports club. The team was re-branded ahead of the 2023 Super Rugby Americas season as "Yacare XV". The team's name and logo image are based on yacare caiman, a mid-size species of caiman native to Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia and adjacent parts of Brazil. Stadium Yacare XV plays at the " Estadio Héroes de Curupayty" in Luque which has recently been renovated with a new playing surface in preparation for professional rugby. American Raptors
The American Raptors is a professional rugby union team based in the municipality of Glendale in Colorado. The team plays in the transcontinental Super Rugby Americas competition . Established as the Glendale Raptors in 2006, the team was a founding member of Major League Rugby in 2017, but they played there only three years, competing as the Colorado Raptors in their final shortened season of 2020 before withdrawing from the league. Following withdrawal from Major League Rugby, the team renamed themselves the Colorado XOs turning their attention to player development of players originally playing other sports, before becoming the American Raptors in 2021. Old Glory DC RFC is a professional rugby union team that is a member of Major League Rugby (MLR), founded in 2018. The organization is led by two local business leaders, former USA Eagles' Paul Sheehy and local club rugby player Chris Dunlavey. The Scottish Rugby Union has a part ownership of the team. The Rocky Gorge Rugby Football Club is a USA Rugby club men's Division I rugby union team based in Columbia, Maryland, United States. Gorge plays in the Mid-Atlantic Conference in the Capital Geographical Union. Rocky Gorge is the 2012 and 2014 USA Club Rugby Division II National Champions and the two-time reigning Mid-Atlantic Division I Champion. History Foundation The origins of Rocky Gorge began in 1986. After playing in college, Tom Owens tried to play with Baltimore but found it not worth the drive into the city. They were announced in September 2018 and began to compete professionally in October 2018. They competed in their first season in MLR in the 2020 season. The San Diego Legion is an American professional rugby union team based in San Diego, California. The team was founded in 2017 and competes in Major League Rugby. Home field The team plays at Snapdragon Stadium, which is located on the campus of the San Diego State University in Mission Valley and has a seating capacity of 35,000. The Utah Warriors are a professional rugby union team that competes in Major League Rugby, the top-level rugby union competition in the United States and Canada that played its first season in 2018.
