UQ Lakes Busway Station
UQ Lakes busway station is located in Brisbane, Australia, serving the University of Queensland's St Lucia campus. It opened on 17 December 2006 at the western terminus of the Eastern Busway at the end of the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. By 2012, about 1.5 million passengers were using the bus stop each year, making it one of the top-5 busiest stops in Brisbane. Originally opening with one platform, a second platform using the existing pathway was added 2008 in order to serve a route extension from West End. A further expansion costing $3 million began construction in 2011 to cope with increased bus services. Opening in June 2012, the upgrade involved a turning lane upgrade, an increase from four to six stops, larger waiting areas, additional shelters and improved lighting. In May 2015 the UQ St Lucia ferry wharf was relocated to a location near the UQ Lakes busway station. UQ St Lucia Ferry Wharf
UQ St Lucia ferry wharf is located on the southern side of the Brisbane River serving the Brisbane suburb of St Lucia in Queensland, Australia. It is served by RiverCity Ferries' CityCat services. History A non-TransLink cross river ferry service formerly ran between the University of Queensland and Dutton Park, but was discontinued when the bus, cyclist and pedestrian only Eleanor Schonell Bridge adjacent to the route was completed. The previous University of Queensland ferry terminal was destroyed during the January 2011 Brisbane floods. A temporary replacement opened on 18 April 2011. Go Card
The ''go'' card is an electronic smartcard ticketing system developed by Cubic Corporation, which is currently used on the TransLink public transport network in South East Queensland. To use the ''go'' card, users hold the card less than 10 cm away from the reader to "touch on" before starting a journey, and must do the same to "touch off" the service at the end of the journey. The cost of each journey is deducted from the ''go'' card balance. The Queensland Government awarded the $134 million contract to design, build, operate and maintain the ''go'' card system to Cubic Corporation in July 2003. Capalaba Bus Station
The Capalaba Bus Station, at Capalaba, Queensland, is serviced by TransLink bus routes. It is part of the Capalaba Shopping Precinct and is the primary interchange for TransLink's Eastern Region. It is in Zone 2 of the TransLink integrated public transport system. The Interchange is laid out in square island with platforms (A-D) on each side surrounding landscaping work, community art pieces, shelters and an amenities block. Each platform can accommodate two buses and on the opposite side of Platforms A and B is parking for up to six buses. Eleanor Schonell Bridge
The Eleanor Schonell Bridge, better known as the Green Bridge, is a 390-metre (1,280 ft)-long cable-stayed bridge which crosses the Brisbane River between Dutton Park and the University of Queensland's St Lucia campus, connecting the UQ Lakes and Dutton Park Place busway stations. Its deck is 185 metres long, 20 metres wide and about 18 metres above the river's surface. The bridge was opened on 17 December 2006, and is the first bridge in Australia exclusively designed for buses, cyclists and pedestrians. The bridge cost $55.5 million to construct.
