San Fernando Handball is a handball club from San Fernando de la Buena Vista, San Fernando, Argentina. Currently, they compete in the Femebal and the Campeonato Nacional de Clubes and it is the current champion. History The club was found 1972 as INEF Manuel Belgrano de San Fernando. Between 16 March 2009 and 1 July 2010 they chanced the name to UNLu. UNLu was short for Universidad Nacional de Luján. In May 2020 they renamed again to the today name San Fernando Handball. Handball Clubs In Argentina
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. The sport is usually played indoors, but outdoor variants exist in the forms of field handball, Czech handball (which were more common in the past) and beach handball. The Pan American Men's Club Handball Championship, organized by the Pan-American Team Handball Federation, was the official competition for men's Team handball, handball clubs of Americas, and took place every year. In addition to crowning the Pan American champions, the tournament also served as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Super Globe. After 2018, with the division of the Pan-American Federation into North America and the Caribbean Handball Confederation and South and Central America Handball Confederation, the competition was ended. ‌The 2023 IHF Men's Super Globe was the 17th edition of the yearly club world championship in handball, held from 7 to 12 November 2023 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia under the aegis of the International Handball Federation (IHF).
