The UNLV Rebels softball team represents the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Mountain West Conference. The Rebels are currently led by head coach Kristie Fox. The team plays its home games at Eller Media Stadium located on the university's campus. Kristie Fox
Kristie Lynn Fox (born September 16, 1985) is an American, former collegiate All-American softball shortstop and current head coach for UNLV Rebels softball team. She attended Mt. Carmel High School and later played for the Arizona Wildcats softball team from 2004 to 2007. Fox led the Wildcats to back-to-back Women's College World Series championships in 2006 and 2007. Playing career College career Fox debuted on February 6, 2004 vs. the New Mexico Lobos in a 2/3 performance, including tallying a double. In her sophomore campaign, she earned First Team All-Pac-12 honors and was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association First Team All-American. As a junior, she repeated conference and NFCA honors and helped lead the Wildcats into the World Series. UNLV Rebels
The UNLV Rebels are the intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Rebels compete in the NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for college football) as a member of the Mountain West Conference. The school's colors are scarlet and gray. It was founded in 1958 for basketball in Paradise, Nevada. It did not have a nickname for Nevada Southern at the time from 1958 to 1968. Some of the Rebels teams use variations of the team name for their individual sport, such as the Runnin' Rebels for men's basketball and the Hustlin' Rebels for the baseball team. The 1990 Runnin' Rebels basketball team defeated Duke University 103–73, to win the NCAA National Championship, UNLV's first Division I National Championship in one of the three major sports. College softball is softball as played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education, predominantly in the United States. College softball is normally played by women at the Intercollegiate level, whereas college baseball is normally played by men. Mountain West Conference
The Mountain West Conference (MW) is one of the collegiate athletic conferences affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) (formerly I-A). The MW officially began operations on January 4, 1999.
